I'd have both but that would torpedo our youth players - again. Plus he's a crock. What happens when we run out of "top" managers we haven't had? List seems pretty slim. Given our recent signings I fully expect us to get Brendan Rodgers...
February 5, 20188 yr Don't be confused by his record at Barca. Hard not to win regularly when you have Messi, Suarez and Neymar. Talk to a Roma fan and they'll tell you the real story. The bloke is an ideologue and is the next AVB waiting to happen if he came here.
February 6, 20188 yr Crap mate. He is tactical naive and it was Messi who ran the show. Enrique had one idea:give Messi the ball. He is a also a prickly character. A third rate Mourinho-like coach. One to avoid.

February 6, 20188 yr Some reports in Spain today saying Luis Enrique will be the new Chelsea-manager in the matter of hours.
February 6, 20188 yr Asked around friends that supporting Barcelona, most of them hated him despite winning the treble in his first season.

Could Barca fans dislike him purely for his terrible relationship with Messi? Or is that overly simplistic? Edited February 6, 20188 yr by DidierDidier

Also, Barca fans have always been wondering about his transfers like Andre Gomes, Paco Alcacer and his decisions weren't that great in the team.
February 6, 20188 yr We are the only team in the world that will sack a manager won the league the season previous, that lies 4th in the league 6 points off 2nd place, in the last 16 of the CL and still in a domestic cup competition......only us. So really it doesn't matter who comes in they will be gone in 2 years or less and we will be having the same conversation in 2020...
February 6, 20188 yr Don't think it gets worse than leicester sacking Ranieri after winning the league

Look at Real Madrid, sacked Carlo for finishing 2nd a year after Champions' League victory. Will probably sack Zidane for finishing 2nd. Mancini pulled off City's first League Title in years, got sacked the next season for finishing 2nd. Claudio pulled off the impossible with Leicester, only to be sacked the next season. Hell, Carlo won the league with Bayern and was sacked the next season. We're not the only team.
February 6, 20188 yr I don't think RM are anywhere near finishing 2nd.....RM with the players they have compared to ours and in a 2/3 team league I would think that RM Board only have 1 target ...win everything. Did Mancini get fired for finishing 2nd? Claudio was in a relegation battle lost Kante, and achieved the impossible...no surprise there. Carlo I think has been the unluckiest of all the managers...but his bank balance looks good
February 6, 20188 yr I really would like to see carlo return. I do not want to see him at arsenal like a few reports were pointing to a few weeks back. Maybe enrique could surprise people, but considering how barcelona started off initially in his tenure, it wasn't good. The only benefit of bringing him in would be to inject new life and ideas into the team, but not sure he's going to be able to compete with jose, poch, pep or even klopp at this level. The league is entirely different to what he is used to as well.
February 6, 20188 yr Appointing this guy is a step back in my own opinion. He is not tactically flexible. His as$ was saved by MSN at Barcelona and the people at the helm of affairs currently won't sign those kind of players.

The league is entirely different to what he is used to as well. I feel Carlo was sacked at a time when Roman expected to win the league every season due to the amounts we spent and the the we had. I think if that happened again now. He wouldn't sack who ever is in charge just for that reason. We did play our most attacking football under Carlo. Seeing as we've had every top manager of be up for Carlo again. I kinda hoped he'd get it after mourinho. Hopefully we go on a good run now (don't see it happening especially looking at the fixture list) and keep Conte as I've always hated the manager merry go round. (With the exception of the avb sacking and the absurd Avram grant caretaker time.) But I'm not overly impressed with counter attacking football. Although mourinho really annoyed me with his stupid comments and childishness in his last season. If we'd only collapsed to a 4th / 5th placed finish I think he could have got over it. Then again I do look at the list of players he held back who are now world class or close at other side and get pissed off. Who ever is manager come the summer 2 big names and team leaders are needed. Preferably ones of the managers choosing.
February 7, 20188 yr Luis Enrique is out of work and he has won major trophies so it will be him. Simple as that. Our board aren't that complicated really.

Enrique is like a poor man's Pep. They both use the same training methods and both employ the same styles and principles. Guardiola is just better then Enrique. That said Enrique did pull some very astute tactical moves at Barca and towards the end of his tenure had to deal with all three front men refusing to run when they didn't have the ball. It would be interesting to see what he does here and the football would change but I feel he may just flop.
February 7, 20188 yr Just noticed Mancini is at Zenith St.Petersburg. He might be a better bet if we cannot attract any decent managers. Don't think we would win a lot of major trophies though expect we would be competitive again.
February 7, 20188 yr I'd prefer 100% to go with an English manger. Sean Dyche has done a super job at Burnley, and could easily manage one of the top clubs. Personally, I'd love Eddie Howe. I think he'd be a perfect fit at Chelsea. Plays his football the right way, and on there day Bournemouth, as proven at Stamford Bridge, can play some classy, cutthroat football. Classy guy as well when he speaks. Edited February 7, 20188 yr by Famous CFC
