February 7, 20188 yr Rumours out of Spain is that Enrique has already signed a deal till 2020?......................but there again it was in that rag called the Daily Mail http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5361915/Luis-Enrique-agrees-deal-replace-Chelsea-boss-Conte.html

February 7, 20188 yr So apparently if Enrique is appointed, he's making 31 year old Luis Suarez his number one target. Good luck with that mate...
February 7, 20188 yr Simon Johnson in Evening Standard also reporting Enrique is our first choice now but that he doesn't want to start before summer so he can have his previous team that is currently at Celta Vigo with him.

Personally, I'd love Eddie Howe. I think he'd be a perfect fit at Chelsea. Plays his football the right way, and on there day Bournemouth, as proven at Stamford Bridge, can play some classy, cutthroat football. Classy guy as well when he speaks. I suspect Eddie Howe is waiting for the Arsenal job once Wenger moves on. Can't see him being interested in us at least while Wenger is still at Arsenal. Might be wrong.

Barca with Iniesta in his prime, Messi in his prime, Suarez in his prime, Neymar in his prime, still Xavi, Rakitic in his prime and Chelsea with Hazard and... ? The things are gonna get ugly very fast if he arrives at the bridge. Xavi retired a few seasons ago, right? Edited February 7, 20188 yr by Phillip

Hey, the only way Arsene is leaving Arsenal is in a body bag.
February 7, 20188 yr Not keen on luis Enrique. He is a fiery character, and it looks like a poor match from the start.
February 7, 20188 yr This would be an absurd decision particularly to replace Conte with him now. It'd require an almost total reshaping of the squad and tactics to make his style work otherwise we would be looking at AVB Mk II. Tbh it's the same with Tuchel and same with Sarri. Totally different styles requiring totally different players. Simeone is the only choice from my perspective if Conte leaves. His identity is our identity.

February 7, 20188 yr Now Matt Law is also reporting Luis Enrique wants to manage in England and that we are favorites. Catalan newspaper Sport entire frontpage was spent on Enrique to Chelsea today. Along with reports of Belletti and his cryptic twitter-post along with him in a Chelsea-shirt a week or so ago it definitly seems like Enrique is the one we are going for.
February 7, 20188 yr Don't like his personality/character to be honest. I guess I won't be eagerly awaiting any of his press conferences like I do with Antonio when he becomes the boss.
February 7, 20188 yr The joys of being a Chelsea fan. See you all at the Premier League victory parade next year!

Working with that philosophy with players like Hazard, Willian, Moses, Kante, Azpi, Alonso, and even to a certain extent, Pedro and Morata would see Chelsea a tad more efficient, more probing and hopefully a tad more creativity and clinical. Howe would be a top quality manager with quality players at his disposal. Just my 2 Cents. It's a credit to him that he's been linked with Arsenal, and hopefully Chelsea. February 8, 20188 yr only thing i will say is when barca started off poorly, he, like conte, changed things and eventually got barcelona performing fantastic. he did have a great front three, but controlling them (including the ultimate primadonna, neymar) would have needed great man management
February 8, 20188 yr Can someone explain to me why he would be a bad appointment? I don't watch football outside of Chelsea so can only take things at face value. I see a lot of people saying he would be a disaster and that he's not a very good coach but he won a lot in very short space of time with Barca. I mean, you don't just fluke a triple season so he must have been doing something right. And, I don't believe that it was all because of Messi either.

He accomplished what he did with perhaps the greatest attacking trio to have ever played together.
