was hoping and thought Morata would be coming into this game with a little more confidence after scoring in back to back games before the break. But lord have mercy he is pitiful. He's just moping around on the pitch. Going down every time he gets the ball with a defender on his back, no energy, not finding/running into spaces. Giroud needs to come on soon because at least he'll put in the work. Thought overall the first half was pretty dull and we need to step it up in the second half. Idk if its the early start time or coming off the international "real" but there was a real lack of energy from the players and the fans

Morata has offered zero in 45 mins, he's giving their defence an easy break really, Giroud would process more ball and keep moves alive, Sarri will surely see he is the better option for the 2nd half.

Leading one-nil to Utd at half time and the typical reaction here is ‘meh’. Seems about right.

We've battered them quite honestly, the commentators and pundits will say different, Gary Neville is praising United for a w**k performance as usual.

But Morata is going down all the time and it's only helping United, Giroud will cause United more problems and if we risk this game on Morata gaining confidence then we might actually not win it.

That whole half he said one baffling thing after another. The guy doesn’t get it

Otherwise very happy for Rudiger scoring, I have seen him doing well in the box before and just felt that this could be his time to score, thank you Conte for this signing he gives his all every game.

Second half should be easier to attack cmon we are not Newcastle...

I love Neville outside of United, but on United he can't hide his bias that well, plus he's always been a Jose fanboy.

Anything United do he'll praise, when they lost to Tottenham he praised United for being really good in attack, if they lose today he'll praise United for "nullifying" Chelsea's attack.

If only we had pundits like that, that would constantly try to take the pressure off us and defend us day in day out.

Interesting BBC text commentators say, 'CFC are in control.'

Yeah, I was being sarcastic. We should be happy with that half and the score line.

I agree that this seems like a game where Giroud’s physical presence and superior link up play would be better suited to whatever Morata is supposed to be doing.

That's impossible. He'll get sacked in the morning and it would be WW3 on social media twitter since all the UK see us worse than fricking Jimmy Saville ... That and the "no history" chavski, plastic bs.

I would keep Willian even if he has been a bit below average though, he did assist from the corner and maybe we can expect more space in attack in the second half.
