I really ought to stop using the Daily Mail web site ... their lead sports article reckons there are 200 interested parties now ... TWO HUNDRED !!!

All Mail reporters should be banned from Stamford Bridge in future, due to years of hatred and constant negativity by this filthy rags so called journalists against our football club. The Mails anti Chelsea agenda really has reached fever pitch now and I think the future owners of our club should throw them out just like the rubbish they are.

The American company overseeing the sale said they had over 200 enquiries.

What's your thinking @coco? That Turkish bidder being legit? Most seem to discredit him.

Was just reported on Radio5.

Apparently the Raine Group is only going to be collecting full cash so I can imagine a lot of the interested parties are going to be dropping like flies since a lot of potential owners count on loans etc to make immediate purchases. This at least might weed out Glazer-type owners.

Yeah you would hope.

He could just be using Turkey as a meeting place ? I can't see Roman going into Saudi Arabia.

So if Alkhereiji is successful, what's his vision?

Well, a perfect blend of sentimentality and revolution.

For starters, Alkhereiji wants to renew the contract of club legend Cesar Azpilicueta - who is rumoured to be on the brink of a move to Barcelona.

He also wants to tie down Antonio Rudiger to a new deal - with both defenders out of contract in the summer.

However, Alkhereiji also has one eye on the future - targeting a staggering £1.5bn overhaul of Stamford Bridge after years of false dawns.

The group also want to pour more money into Chelsea's youth system to continue the club's legacy or finding and nurturing top young talent, while also heavily investing in the women's team.

Elsewhere, the Saudi Media Group want to secure bigger and better commercial partnerships for the club - with the Blues recently losing Three and Hyundai after Abramovich was sanctioned.

They plan to use their already extensive connections to land mega-money deals.

The consortium also aim to broaden the Blues fanbase, diving into the 'untapped market' of Saudi Arabia.

We don't know how directly involved in the process he is anymore.

What we do know is before the sanctions he hired the Raine Group to make the sale happen and find the best owners for the club. We know he was looking at that literally as whoever is best to safeguard our future as Roman said himself he views them and himself not as owners but custodians.

We also know Raine Group needed his ok AFTER sanctions to carry on the sale.

So while I don't known how directly he is involved I still believe he is indirectly involved through instructions to Raine Group in the looking for a "preferred bidder"

I don't believe their will be lots of negotiations either. Simply which bid which safeguards us best, legally all put down on paper. I have hope it will move quickly.

I believe Roman will meet the new owner/s in person before any sale. It's 20 years of his work were talking about, he wants the best for us, as witnessed by us all over the last 20 years.

Didnt Roman sound too good to be true ? were you a supporter then ?

Ouch hey now. I started following football and picked Chelsea as my team in the 1995/96 season.

Yes he did sound too good to be too. And I loved Batesy so it was my Liverpool supporting mate who broke the news to me to which I told him "pi$$ off" Ken won't let the club go even from his cold dead hands, he love us too much"

What are our chances of getting another Roman though. He has been the best owner in world football. Can we be so lucky to get another?

If possible that would be great. Depends how safely he can travel now after being sanctioned.

I didnt mean it like that, i was just curious if you remember when Roman came in and everyone was going on about us being rich and thinking it sounds to good to be true.

It did till I heard Bates talk on Chelsea TV. I believe him, he can sell ice to Eskimos after all, though the level of success it brought I I not. Thought we could compete for and win a title or 2, not the CL though.

Excellent post. It really is frightening. Maybe you can answer this. If a debt is sold to a third-party, can said third-party control the level of interest or is this fixed in the sales contract and cannot be altered. A lot of clubs are robbing Peter to pay Paul as you say and no-one is immune, except for perhaps City and the barcodes.

I believe that most clubs buy players in effect on HP included in the fee agreed would be an element of interest say 4.25 %. I can only assume that there has to be some sort of tax advantage in agreeing to pay interest.

Let’s go back to that example I pointed out bear in mind my numbers are probably way off but I use the numbers to illustrate how the process works

Say the debt Man U owed Leicester was £56 million payable in 4  annual equal instalments of £14 million. Leicester would  sale that £56 million  debt for as much as 20% below that sum. The factoring  company would pay a lump sum to Leicester of £45 million and when pay  United pay the instalments of  £14 million it goes to the factor company. Nice work if you can get it

With the media scrutiny and govt involvement, I don’t see us being sold to Saudi‘s regardless of whether there is direct or indirect link to Saudi govt. it’s too political and the PL will not be turn a blind eye like they did with Newcastle owners. There will be racial profiling unfortunately by the media and anyone from Middle East will be seen as dodgy - because white people aren’t involved in wars and dodgy business…apparently.

Not going to happen anytime soon,, unless Saudis invade Europe. People in football, especially ex-players, should stop trying to get into politics, same goes for sports journos.
