February 25, 20197 yr Have you been before the beak for 29 kid player's signing's, that's what we're hearing? we are up for 1 from South America so far? if it's worked out proportional then if you get 2 windows maybe we will get 1....but hey who knows with fifa and UEFA clowns.....do you understand why we boo their theme tune? ;-)
February 25, 20197 yr A pointless waste in the end. Tired legs and more drama. Could not kepa at least had the decent to come over to Sarri and talk to him rather than shout across the pitch. No doubt we were done then. It messed with luiz head I reckon too hence his pen miss.

It certainly didn't help yet then Luiz did also mess up his free-kick, one of those days perhaps.

If Kepa wanted to stay on he should of kept a straight face and stayed on his feet, Sarri did what any manager would of done, Kepa did what no player has ever done. This is where I think Kepa was in the wrong. He should still have walked off. If he wanted to get his point across to Sarri, then he should have run over to Sarri and explain to him that he wasn't injured. If he had done that and Sarri still wanted to sub him, then fair enough. With them both shouting at each other from a distance though, it made them both look ridiculous.

The only reason Sarri looked ridiculous was because his goalkeeper wasn't obeying him. It's like having a little kid show you up in the shops in front of everyone.

Sounds a lot more serious than anything we have been punished for. You might find out a bit quicker now they have been all over us like a rash.
February 25, 20197 yr On a different note, a big for the Chelsea fans at the game, created a great atmosphere esp. 2nd half.
February 25, 20197 yr Credit to the city keeper as he guess the correct way to go on each of our pens. Almost saved Emersons as well. He did his homework. Whereas Kepa made a poor aguero pen look good and went the wrong way 3 times.
February 25, 20197 yr Well i just about feel able to sit at the pc again, was absolutely gutted last night, i really do believe that trophy was chelsea's for the taking. That performance after the 6 nil drubbing was awesome !! kudos to sarri and the team, except for that little prick kepa. I think the willy on for the penalties would of been sarris master stroke (still not sure why he took willian off though with penalties looming) and would of won him his first ever trophy with chelsea. If only JT had of been sarris assistant, he would of run on and dragged him off !!

We were under the cosh in the early stages and kept just giving the ball back to them but bar one or two half chances they didn't really trouble our goal. The slight disappointment for me, looking back, is how we didn't make the most of our advantage in the second half and extra time. By then we had brought on CHO and RLC who were improvements on Pedro and Barkley and they had taken off KDB and Silva and I thought we could really up the tempo and force home the advantage. We looked the better side for parts yesterday but just didn't do enough to trouble their keeper. But still very encouraging compared to two weeks ago. While I agree Hudson Odoi and Loftus Cheek were more incisive, I also think the ground work done by Barkley and Pedro was so critical in the first place. City always set out to bulldoze through teams early with their aggressive pressing before shutting up shop with possession late on. Pedro and Barkley were incredibly well disciplined (as were the rest of our midfield) and City visibly tired - the press dropped and it allowed our creative (and arguably less defensively savvy) substitutes the time and space to make an impact. I personally think Sarri got his team and tactics spot on from the players available, just unfortunate the breaks didn't go our way (Kante, Hazard's offside) and the penalties too.

February 26, 20197 yr This was a lovely bit of play, if it was topped off by a Pedro goal it would have been perfect.

I wouldn’t say it was completely pointless, I feel the game has showed Sarri how much better/more comfortable we are at counter attacking. Hopefully Sarri will accept Sarriball will not happen this season, and stick to counter attack with a mixture of sarriball too. Give sarriball another go next season if he has to, but I’m hopeful he’ll find a new style (Attractive football but still counter attack.)

My preference is for counter attack against the top 5 and Sarri-ball for the rest though looking a couple of matches ahead I see we have Wolves at home, a potential banana skin for Sarri-ball.
