How are you judging that, not saying you are wrong just that for me Ballack was played more defensively than Frank so in our team would likely be less prolific regardless of ability. 

One thing about Frank he had a great long range pass often witnessed on the counter attack as he found Drogba further up the pitch.

Prolific, IE: the amount of goals in his scored for tally, miles ahead of Ballack

Ballack was a top, top player. Better than he was ever given credit for on here. We missed him a lot in Carlo's second season.

His ability to adapt to work with Frank was extraordinary but he stepped up on the rare occasion Frank was out. Still remember his performance when Frank was out against United after his Mum died. Superb.

That performance against United was one of the best individual performances i've ever seen from a Chelsea player.  

For a muscle man Essien had good endurance. He could run all day.
