Chelsea get Top FOUR

Tonight was the night. Need City to smash United then we need to beat them to have a chance at 5th place. Arsenal need to implode to give us a chance at 4th.

Disappointing today and we are running out of matches

Looking at the fixtures I have to say we really should be looking to get 3 points at Old Trafford - They play City mid week and City will wear them out.

Watford at home and Leicester away though, can see us dropping points again.

I agree Dan, we could win all three though don't see it happening. The worst situation with a Sarri team would be needing to win at Leicester with their counter attacking style on the last day of the season.

Neither. We cannot defend to save our lives. I dont expect us to have enough to beat Frankfurt, nor finish in the top 4. We were handed a golden chance, scored 2 lovely goals but our defense imploded again. Not good enough.

What makes you think Frankfurt have enough to beat us?

Because Burnley are sh*t and they mugged us off. Frankfurt have actually bested Benfica and Inter. Decent teams.

Also Frankfurt dont have to beat us. Away goals will do just fine in a draw.

Burnley aren't sh*t. They just put ten men behind the ball and we couldn't break them down. We'd have been fine 9/10

We've beaten the two English champions League semi finalists this year. Stop being so miserable.

We did break them down, twice in fact. We just handed them 2 goals on a silver platter. They could not believe their luck.

It happens. We aren't a mid table team because we couldn't beat Burnley.

We will finish 6th if we lose to Utd and 5th if we win them. All eggs in the EL basket.

Tottenham as a team is 2 seasons ahead us with inferior squad, Arsenal has a manager who has a winning mentality but Arsene's squad, Utd have as good as squad as we do but in a limbo at the moment. We have an old italian manager who has a vision.

We should be looking to be closer to Pool/City but the reality is with Sarri we won't. Give him a season with new players (if possible) and lets see how it goes. If we haven't improved, sack and hire the new flavor of the month. This month it is Ajax manager.

Without Hazard, we're a midtable team, regardless of last night's result. It's a combination of poor transfer business over the last few years and having a clown for a manager. Bad signings downgraded our squad from a title contender to a top four candidate, and Sarri has done even further damage by turning us into a midtable rubbish. Hazard's factor and input is the biggest reason we're closer to a top four than to a middle of the table.

Give him a good kick up the arse, more like. Had we sacked Sarri weeks ago and hired Holland as an interim, we'd still have a legit shot at top four and EL. Sarri's done absolutely nothing to earn another season, let alone new players. He's a loser who hasn't been up to a challenge and he's been projecting that weak mentality image onto a team, we're an embarrassment to watch.

The clown we have managing our team, need I say more. This bloke has failed in every aspect of managing our club, no point keeping him just because we have decided we want to stop sacking managers each season. If he's not good enough which he mostly definitely isn't then get rid. He should of gone weeks ago.

I disagree with all of this. I like our football now, it was awful in december-january but we aren't boring anymore. We play attacking good attractive football. People have stopped calling Sarri ball boring.  We just need to sort out our defensive frailties and sign a couple of players and we would be good for next year.

We will be better next year under Sarri. Or at least we won't decline - which miraculously we haven't done under him this season considering how badly run our club is.

Really? Better go and look in the match thread

I don't know how we can call our football boring last night

Maybe it's only my eyes that can see less sideways passing and more actual attacking. The ball needs to move quicker but it's going in the right direction

The football has been rubbish for months, it's so boring and Sarri doesn't know how to change a game and very rarely goes from the same formation and tactics. It's taken over 50 games to get to the point of having a few bits of good play here or there, well at least that's abit better than the rubbish we have had to put up with. It's going in the right direction though.

I certainly admire your optimism. It amazes me how people can view the same match and each see a totally different picture.

If finishing sixth and trophyless by the end of the season is going in the right direction then I agree, that's where we're going.

Next year, with Sarri and without Hazard, we'll be going further down that direction.

The first half was great then we lost CHO and Kante who give the team a lot of pace and energy. Second half was boring, predictable sh*te.

Was the first half great? We had a good 15 minute spell after going behind where we got our noses in front but then conceded a sloppy equaliser.

After Burnley got on level terms they started to dig their heels in and we had a lot of possession but weren't creating much by way of clear cut chances, a lot of our efforts last night were from outside the area.

From my seat behind the shed looking down our right flank watching Dave, Kante and CHO run riot was a joy to behold. Dave even turned on his inner Hazard for a cheeky back-heel assist.

Yeah we looked excellent going forward for much of the first half. Could see what Sarri is trying to get them to do.

I thought we played better in terms of attacking yesterday it's just that we couldn't stop them scoring.

Perversely think we will have a better chance against Utd as they are less likely to sit behind the ball although after City's visit they may revert to counter attacking too.
