Chelsea get Top FOUR

At least Spurs are through, you would think their main focus is on champions league now rather than top 4 - Which May affect their league form.

Spurs fans are saying they want to see a second team against City this weekend. I’m convinced Arsenal will finish top 4 so it’s looking like it’s between us, Spurs and United.

We need Spurs to focus on champions league, and United are looking sh*te at the minute. Things are looking up for us, but you know it’ll be so typical if we fail to beat United despite the form they’re in.

It's hard to say beyond the next game, Utd face a trip away to Everton with the latter being in a spell of good form. I also would expect City to now beat Spurs as Pep should be wanting revenge and to keep league momentum.

Arsenal look likely to beat Palace.

Yes we are unpredictable unfortunately.

Arsenal's win away at Watford was huge for them unfortunately. It was a must-win game for them and guess what? Everything in the match goes their way. Goalkeeping howler for their goal, then Watford going down to 10 men inside 15 minutes. They were then outplayed by 10 men and were lucky to escape with a win.

If Arsenal continue like that they will lose their remaining away games.

Compared to the other teams in the top 6 we've been very unlucky this season. Haven't had the rub of the green at all (bar Cardiff away).

Can't agree there to be honest. I'm a firm believer that luck evens itself out over a period of time - all swings & roundabouts! If we fail to make top 4 it will be because we haven't been good enough - simple as that.

I know its somewhat foolish, as logic would dictate that its is just one of those things, but I have often thought we have been an unlucky team. How often to 50/50 bobbles go to the oppo, shots hitting the bar/ post and bouncing clear of danger (rather than back either into goal or to one of ours) etc.etc. or simply the amount of shots we have that are inches off target or get a deflection to go wide...

conversely it seems that if the oppo shots wide we manage to nick it goalbound... a post will bounce down to their striker...

I also agree that it's swings and roundabouts. This season we haven't had the rub of the green, but there have been other seasons where a lot has gone our way. When it's such tight margins luck can play it's part. And in my opinion we've had less of it this season than the rest of the top 6.

I'd say we've definitely been unlucky this season in comparison to some other teams. Just look at Liverpool - they've been gifted 2 last minute wins this season against Everton and Spurs due to goalkeeping howlers. Have we had a goalkeeping error like that go in our favour this season? I can't recall any.

Hopefully it'll mean that next season we'll have some fortune go our way!

But it's what we've always argued about in the past. If you play attacking football where you get plenty of men forward with lots of shots on goal, you'll get lucky now & again. Look at when we had Lamps and the number of deflected goals he bagged - it's because he took so many shots. Bit like the lucky one Messi scored against De Gea the other night. Same as winning more penalties - you have men running into the opponents box you will win more pens. It's not gonna happen if you're passing the ball about the centre circle for the majority of the game!!

Updated fixtures, a busy period though each club has it's challenges;

  • Utd have the least fixtures though start with three games close together culminating in meeting with us.
  • Arsenal finish with two potentially tricky away fixtures close together.
  • Spurs have very little rest now until the end of the season suggesting fatigue might set in.
  • For us, we have a nice little break after Burnley building up to Utd, I hope we use this time wisely.

Need Wolves, Leicester, Everton and Man City to help us out big style! Although we don’t like to take advantage of teams around us dropping points.

I think they might help too, though we need a result against Utd and we have time to prepare unlike Utd.

With Utd It's about the only game we can prepare for as the others come think and fast.

I noticed that, it’s probably the first time this season we’ve had a good rest while our opponents have to play an extra game.

I think we need to win 3 of our last 4 PL games to make the Top 4.

It has to be all four even for a sniff....just can't see Arsenal and Spurs dropping enough points to allow us through if we slip up.  We have been inconsistent all year, sh*te against the teams around us and dropping stupid points to teams below mid table.  We've got what we deserved this season and all the fingers pointing in the direction of the boardroom with their appointment of Sarri together with their reluctance to clear out the deadwood and yet give contracts to aging players and has beens while not nailing Hazard down with the money he deserves.   Where we are now is where we end up, overall it will be a miserable season unless by some miracle we win the Europa league..

If Hazard is leaving, it isn't because we didn't offer him a great package ...

He needs to be in the top 3-5 highest players in world football and by far the highest paid in the club....and I doubt that's the case, and from what I can see he doesn't even make the top 5 in either and I very much doubt they have offered him a contract anywhere near what the top 5 earn.

Lol. He's not paid a lot because hes not signed a new contract for a while.

He would easily be in the top 10 paid players if he signed s new contract.

I guess we'll find out when the time comes or he leaves
