So you think the other teams were lucky then when we were dropping points?

yes, you can say so if you want. I just can´t believe we are still 4th and United, Arsenal not taking advantage.

I just feel we wont. We are not playing well enough to win back to back. I still feel we will not make the CL via Prem. Tottenham especially is a couple of seasons ahead us in many ways. We have a great squad but otherwise we are a work in progress.

I think all united Chelsea and arsenal fans think our teams deserve to come 6th.

Tottenham feel like a better side but we will be level on points if we win today.

This is an unreal chance. Unsure of the best way to go about it. I wonder if United are going to attack or not. They have a great counter-attack option in Rashford. Surely we have to go for it. If we win we are 4 above Arsenal and 6 above United. If we lose we stay 4th so surely we go for it.

No wonder Liverpool and City are getting so many points this season. Everyone below them is so poor!

Crazy how often 3rd to 6th place sides are dropping points at this stage of the season with Champions League places up for grabs.

It's usually the case, it's only being further highlighted this season due to how good the top 2 are.

So a point sees us move away from Arsenal and closer to Spurs though still a couple of hard challenges ahead.

Next Sunday we play first against Watford at home. Arsenal play at 4.30 against Brighton at home. You would expect 2 wins from that.

Spurs have Bournemouth away which will be after their semi final. Then Everton at home on the last day.

Still hard to call who will get it. I don’t trust us at all.

Watford is a must win game. We got lucky today with Arsenal losing. We need to win at least 1 more game. Please for the love of god if we bottle it from this position. Ideally beat Leicester too but I can already tell we will drop points there.

United will win their last 2 games huddersfield and cardiff are the worst in the league.

What is it with all this miserableist we got lucky today mindset.

Funny how the traffic on this site dimishes massively when we don’t loose.

This was one of those games the the eyoire the donkey contributors were sure we’d get smashed on.

Cheer up you miserable bastards

Expect?!

Watford will give us a very hard game.

I genuinely think 4 points will be enough as arsenal will lose one or both games. Which I think we can get, but I don't expect 6 points.

Ideally...

- City beats Leicester and Wolves beat Fulham. Then Leicester is not playing for 7th on the final day.
- Cardiff beats Crystal Palace. Then Brighton cannot be on the beach against Arsenal and hopefully puts in a shift and do not loose by more than 1.
- We beat Watford convincingly and improve our goal difference. Then a draw against Leicester will most definitely be sufficient.

One can dream at least.

........or we just look to win our last two games then we don't have to concern ourselves what happens in loads of other matches.

Just shows how poor this season has been for us to working out the maths like this with no confidence we can pick up 6 points out of two very winnable games.

That's our season for you. I don't trust us to win both our matches, so I'm hoping for a scenario where a draw against Leicester is good enough. Arsenal will win their next game so this'll definitely go all the way to the final day.

Surprised to see Burnley already on 40 points give City such a hard match yesterday, just hoping they do the same against Arsenal on the last day of the season and we might just limp into the top 4.

This, Leicester away, dont have loads of confidence in getting a win there to be honest.

You'd always raise your game against the top 6. Regardless of when the game is played.

OK, it looks like we have a chance to get into the Champions League via the Top 4, and/or win Europa League.  Let's say we get in...…..then what?

Our best player and leading goal scorer is leaving.  Our most promising youth player wanted to leave, and is likely to miss at least a significant part of the first half of next season.  We don't have a striker who can offer a consistent goal scoring threat. We're not certain who will coach the team next season.  Most importantly, there's a strong possibility we may not even be able to improve the squad next season which means we may not be as good next year.

We have no DoF, our owner has been essentially absent this year, and rumours of a possible sale won't go away.

Are we know the club that is just happy to get into the Champions League?  Under Roman, we had been a club that expected to be in it, and looked to win it.  Now it feels like we are the Arsenal of the last 10 years.

If the transfer ban is upheld, and we are forced to integrate some of our younger players, they will be inexperienced in European play.

So OK, we'll get in, but are we even going to get out of the group stage?

OK but maybe you should have a more negative outlook on things... its all well and good being sunshine, rainbows and unicorns all the time, but what about when things arent going so well...

Firstly it's worth probably £50m+ in extra revenue for the club if we make the CL, added to the Hazard money, we will have a nice booty for new players when the ban is over.

And if the ban is delayed and were able to buy players this summer, then reaching the CL means we can attract better players in theory.
