July 13, 20233 yr Hearing from medical sources inside Cobham that Reece James is set to have a scan on his knee following training today, to determine whether or not he will travel to the US. Medical sources remain optimistic.

July 13, 20233 yr Hopefully this comes to nothing, but if it does he must be very frustrated. Hindsight is too easy, but perhaps this should have been done in December last year. Gusto is going to need to ramp up fast Edited July 13, 20233 yr by PhilH930
July 14, 20233 yr May as well miss pre-season and get the procedure or operation done. Everytime he's on a long spell on the sideline, our results go to sh1t. It maybe better to start the season instead of another long lay off.
July 14, 20233 yr Nothing serious. Quote Reece James is fine and will be going on the US tour. (@SJohnsonSport) #CFC
July 15, 20233 yr Lucky we have a capable back up now in Gusto. James is our best player but he's made of glass.
July 17, 20233 yr Looks like he didn’t fly out to the States today. Hopefully it’s just a quick illness and he’ll get some good preseason. Plus I hope he’s available cause I’d love to see him in Atlanta next week

Any knee injuries where there is even partial ligament damage poses risk of further injuring it or rupturing it completely given there is no blood supply going to the tendon.

If Gusto lives up to the billing I think we have to seriously consider making him CDM (or CB in a back three) fulltime. It's a shame as he really is the Mbappe of fullbacks when fully on it but those positions are a lot less taxing to the legs.
July 18, 20233 yr Big season for Reece. Read somewhere he was less available than Pulisic. Just not sure we can depend on Reece yet, which is a shame given his ability. Needs a healthy season under his belt.
July 18, 20233 yr We are asking a lot if we think James can stay fit for at least 2 thirds of a season.

July 21, 20232 yr How did people survive pre-mobile phones? How did they live without talking to/texting someone every two minutes? I remember trying to take my bakelite phone with me back in the day. Cord got jammed in the door. End of experiment.

I'm sure we'll all be glued to some optical overlay implanted in our eyes in the next 30 years.
July 21, 20232 yr Fair enough. Good point. Answer me this then: how did people not die of dehydration before the advent of the little plastic bottle of water they carry everywhere?
