June 29, 20233 yr Pure speculation but maybe he's a little bit hurt/worried about Mount's departure? Remember his little line about carrying the bricks? That being said he seems to be taking shots mostly at Arsenal and Havertz though lol. Good Makes me like him even more. Just please watch out for these injuries Reece, we need you now more than ever
June 30, 20233 yr Really hope that the combination of Pochettino's focus on fitness/conditioning, and the presence of a serviceable backup in Gusto, means we get a season of injury-free Reece James. When he's at 100% he's absolutely box office, which isn't something I ever thought I'd say about a fullback 😂

June 30, 20233 yr We need him at his best, so we can develop him at being our next leader. Big Reece!
June 30, 20233 yr The beast.. i hope he stays injury free and burries them Gunners in the hole they have come out off after one season. The funny part is they didnt even win anythig this season.
July 5, 20233 yr I have a hunch that Reece James might be played more in defensive midfield this season. Gusto at right back ; Chalobah as the back up. It makes sense to have your best players in an area of the pitch where they potentially will have more influence ? Plus saves him all the sprints up and down the touchline, so we may get more games out of him with less wear and tear on his body ?
July 5, 20233 yr Give this human tank the keys to the club. The right back wrecking ball who pus everyone in his back pocket. Could easily go on to be a JT for us. Huge, huge fan, I hope he works out how to play 100 percent blood and thunder without picking up injuries. A genuine game changer and leader.
July 5, 20233 yr Reece is top top class...when healthy, which has been his biggest issue to date. I'm concerned about that given his relatively young age but hopefully he's over the worst of it. We also have malo gusto as backup now so a huge improvement on dave.
July 5, 20233 yr I just checked his vitals. He's just on 6 feet and 14 and a bit stone. That's a big frame and stress on his knees and hammies. I think that's where the medical staff need to earn their pay.

Could also explain why we have sudden interest in bringing back Livramento.

Yes that would make sense, especially if we are selling or loaning Chalobah. Right back duties shared between Gusto and Livramento, with Reece alongside Enzo in the pivot. Very possibly 2+2 = 5 of course 🙂
July 5, 20233 yr Thanks for bumping a thread like this when so many of our players are leaving, it seems that people care very little about others anxiety these days, god forbid heart conditions.
July 5, 20233 yr Reece has that natural desire to attack. If he is to go back to being a midfielder, and a CDM at that, he would need to curb those instincts.

When I watch KDB play at City, having that freedom to occupy that RCM and RW role simultaneously, I can't help but feel James would also excel in a similar role.

Would require a 4-3-3 system rather than Pochettino 4-2-3-1 system I feel. Kepa Gusto Silva Colwill Chilwell James Caicedo Enzo Jackson Nkunku Sterling

July 5, 20233 yr Quite like the idea of this! Reece always seems to dominate the middle of the pitch when he steps into midfield. It would be good to have him as an option in there without needing to play a back 5.

July 6, 20233 yr I can't get behind the talk around a move to cdm. We have few true world class players for their positions. But Reece on form, is top 3 RWBs in the world. Seems mad to take one of the best in the world in their respective position and play them somewhere else.
