No one said not have a holiday, just for once stay at home, like the vast majority have a staycation, I presume your attitude like many youngsters is it doesn’t kill people like us so who gives a f**k, yes it might be like a flu to a pro footballer but now they aren’t available to train properly with season approaching

Are people this egocentric? Only because it doesn't harm me it is all good? Sure a pro footballer is probably fine and doesn't even notice but he spreads it to other and they spread it further.

Why was there a lockdown in the first place because, nobody knew and suddenly hospitals can't handle all the sick people which in turn negatively impacts all the non covid patience.

Edit. sry see my post below.

When will people start taking this f**king thing seriously.

Never.

They are millionaire footballers, do you think they want a holiday in the lake district?

I'd rather they come back eager to play. Mental fatigue is huge at this level.

You know who got mental fatigue?

Most of the normal workers who lost their jobs and can't even pay for holiday.

Couldn’t give a sh*t whether their eager to play, rather them be more responsible and not threaten their love ones or anyone else with spreading the virus, football and Chelsea isn’t everything. As for the poor millionaire footballers and their mental fatigue, and not wanting to holiday in Lake District, feel more sorry for the all the cancer patients who have had treatments cancelled or haven’t been diagnosed sooner due appointments being cancelled.

Regardless of what they did, they still followed the rules. Greece is a "safe" country. It's as safe as going to blackpool.

Why are 25 year olds visiting 75 year olds? That's so dangerous. I have been to BBQs with friends. I've been to pubs. All within the rules (as the Chelsea players have done). However I wouldn't be so reckless to expose a 75 year old. Are you doing that? Jesus. If you need to pick something up for a 70+ year old then drop it at the door and leave.

For someone on such a high f**king horse you really aren't taking this thing seriously in the right way.

Or the nearly 70,000 people who lost their lives, maybe?

What does that have to do with anyhing? They are allowed to travel to greece on holiday.

I'm afraid that people like you, with attitudes like that, are the main problem these days.

It's OK to do what I want because I want to do it, regardless of who the f**k else I screw over.

That gives you 500,000 idiots swarming the beaches of Dorset just because they wanted to, and f**k Dorset and the people there, eh?

That gives you over 20 police officers injured trying to stop an illegal party with no attempt at social responsibility in London.

That gives you 8 tons of rubbish, human excrement and discarded masks in the Lake District "beauty spots.

That gives you moorland fires all over the place because dimsh*ts thought the middle of a heatwave was  great time to have a barbecue in the middle of extremely dry heather on the hottest weekend of the year.

Just because you are allowed to do something, doesn't make it right, acceptable or sensible.

Okay but travelling to greece for a holiday (which I imagine the club allowed them to do) after being in a quarantined situation for longer than any of us is not the same as these things you weirdly suggested. Half of which aren't even legal anyway

Ah, “the f**k you jack I’m alright” attitude, it’s exactly where it’s all gone wrong.

Yeah I can imagine you haven't left the house in years just in case you have fun. Why go to the pub when there are cancer patients who can't. Why have a bbq when in Newcastle it's probably raining.

Stop being so holier than thou.

Yes them as well obviously, I find if you give the death toll to the  youngsters some of them seem to say, is yes but they were all old anyway!!, if you try to explain the bigger picture to them I.e other deaths brought by this virus maybe just maybe some will start to understand. For 6 months been trying to explain to my two lads both in their 20’s the situation, f**k me it’s been tiresome but they did in the end realise a foreign holiday wasn’t best practise, but then again they are not millionaire footballers with mental fatigue!!!

Greece was a 'safe' country until the start of August, presumably after all the tourists started flocking in and brought the virus with them. Now it has a similar infection rate as France and the Netherlands (per head of population), which are officially considered risk areas.

It's true that they didn't break any rules by going to Greece, and I'm actually not against travelling completely if people are acting responsibly, but what did they get up to while they were there? Four young lads going away together to let off steam... I'm sure they didn't go there just to build socially distanced sandcastles.

Anyway, we still don't know why they're isolating and which of our players supposedly tested positive. It's possible the positive tests had absolutely nothing to do with them, but I still think going on a beach holiday was a daft idea.

It's still on the safe list.

Maybe it was a daft idea. But they might have caught something being in the UK.

They've essentially been given their first and only 2 week holiday of the year. Let them do what they want as long as they aren't breaking the rules.

Some people just don't care, mate.

f**k everyone else, I wanna because I'm special, and you got no right to stop me.

I never said that.

I've literally just said to follow the rules. Not the ones you've made up in you're own head to make yourself feel special.

Exactly. Why are they even taking a salary right now!

Surely they should be giving up their entire wages until there are no poor people left in England?

Bloody selfish the lot of them. Living their lives. Following the rules.

Unless you suggest the millionaire footballers should donate the money they would have spent on that holiday they're not going on to meals for kids, the two things aren't really connected. But I get the point you want to make

I know it's on the safe list, my point was that the UK government's safe list should not be taken as gospel. As I said, I don't actually have any problem with people travelling per se, but a going on lad's beach holiday right now (with all of what that entails) and mingling with like-minded people from all over Europe is not very responsible regardless of whether any rules are broken.

I'm assuming they weren't mingling that much because we'd have seen it. They likely just relaxed by a pool and had drinks in the evening in a wider group. One of those people may have then got covid and they have all had to quarantine.

Not ideal but it's not the end of the world. No different to how 95% of 20 year olds are acting. Likely even better behaved. The idea they should act like saints 24/7 because there are poor people or people with cancer is laughable.

But the narrative here is mostly that they shouldn't have gone to Greece and that they got covid19 (if indeed they are positive, which we don't know) because they went to Mykonos. Some say "Couldn't they have done a staycation"? Well yes, but the likelihood of picking up covid-19 is as high in Blackpool (or indeed higher) if you go on a weekend with the lads. So yeah, going to Greece is not wrong, they could have gone to Greece and enjoy the beach and beers in the terraces while keeping the distance and wearing masks, and they'd would have been safer than in a staycation of going out with the lads to steam off in Skegness, Blackpool or Windermere.

Does this shamming of our players extend to Drogba and Terry (both of whom were in Greece with Mount and co at one point) or are we scapegoating young men because narrative?
