Time for us to pick the team of the decade, the most successful decade in the clubs history, pick wisely.

Of the players they have available to select, I think 9 pretty much pick themselves.

I think the only points of debate are maybe Fabregas instead of Mikel, and Costa instead of Drogba, who did most of his good stuff for us in the previous decade. Costa outscored Drogba 59-33 from 2010/11 onwards ...

I had Cesc in for Mikel and Costa in for Willian in mine so you’re pretty much spot on about the 9  The other one could be Dave for Ivanovic but I could never leave Brana out!

Agreed on Dave.

He's probably played more games than most in the last decade, but I couldn't squeeze him in ahead of Ivanovic either !

It's Brana's goals that swung it for me ...

I admit to trying to crowbar as many 2012 veterans as i could into the team. They deserve it. I almost dropped Kante for Luiz. But loses points for going to Le Arse.

I love the old guard but their peak was the 00s, although I do understand Coco's argument that Munich alone should give them a shout but I decided to go down the week by week consistency in performance route while deciding.

I went with Merson's formation. I think there's hardly any debate about it. Although 2 strikers upfront is a tad bit unrealistic, I could not drop drogba from the team for 2 reasons : munich and the 2012 UCL campaign as a whole (the goals vs valencia in the last group stage game that was a vital win since otherwise leverkusen and valencia could have elminated chelsea otherwise; the return leg where he scored the first goal and delivered an assist ; scored the most important goal of the semis against barcelona in the first leg that meant ramires' wondergoal was the decisive one for the qualification into the final ; and of course munich) and his unbelievable 2009/2010 PL season where he finished top goalscorer. Also dont forget he scored the winning goal vs liverpool in the 2012 FA cup final.

now on the bench of that team I would have put : azpi, ramires, willian, kepa and mikel.

Not much between Pedro and Willian but i just went for Pedro after his goal VS Everton away when we won the league under Conte. I felt that goal was huge.

I've just seen the fans voted team of the decade on the website and Essien has made it in.

I mean really? Although their time was the 00s I can understand Drogba, Lamps and Cole being selected due to Munich and the tail end of the double season but how in the name of God did Essien get in? He returned from injury mid way through 2010 declined to a pretty poor player and unlike the others didn't play a significant part in Munich and was injured for the 10s part of the double season.

I love him and he's a shoe in for the 00s side but putting him in for the 10s has to be the laziest vote of all time.

Agree. Ridiculous choice.

I think I'm the only one with Ramires in...His goals were amazing to me, underrated.
