There are nowhere near enough tests being carried out, our wonderful government are counting a nose test, a throat swab and an immunity test on the same person as three test, they count postal tests as having been carried out when they are dispatched. not when they have been returned and tested and STILL they are falling short of the numbers they promised us weeks ago. Care homes and essential service workers are NOT being tested routinely and only if you have symptoms can a normal citizen ask for a test, upon which you mostly have to travel to a drive-through testing centre, sometimes up to 100 miles or more away from your home. No-one but politicians, football players and other sports people and those who can afford to pay privately are getting regular tests. And we still aren't testing people arriving at the airports and ferry ports, not implementing quarantine in any regulated way. and keep on encouraging the common-sense filled great british public to push further and further against the restrictions that should be keeping us safe purely to carry on the madness of brexit. I wonder how many of the johnson-supporting members we have in here were up in London at the weekend, throwing bottles of piss at the police and pissing on memorials to murdered policemen. My money is on at least two that I can think of. That is infuriating. I don't understand how the FA can justify playing matches with this situation for the rest of the country. Funny thing (well, not so funny actually) in the Netherlands there's capacity for 30,000 daily tests (on 17 million inhabitants), and roughly 10,000 tests are actually carried out. It seems that many people with symptoms that might point to Covid don't make the connection or can't be bothered. So far there is no spike, not even after the protest on Dam square where people were much too closely packed, but there are several possible explanations for that (or a combination of them).

I wasn't impressed. I reckon bars and kiosks will be closed, social distancing definitely will be 1 metre by 4th July. Reckon limited crowds by September rising slowly through the weeks. Excellent news about the haircut. I could to with one as my hair is a mess. Even before the lockdown it was a mess. I put that down to all the swimming I did. Will be a while before I go swimming again. I reckon swimming pools will be among the last things to open up. Not sure if this has already been mentioned but the PL has been in discussions with the Govt. to allow fans back into grounds. Will be interesting to see if that goes ahead. Have to say it will be a while before I'd feel safe about going back to the Bridge. I get paranoid about going into a supermarket! If a number of fans are allowed back into grounds I wonder if there will be a limit and if so, who will be allowed to go. Will it be, for example, 5,000 people for one game and a different 5,000 for the next game. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53063072 Discussions have started about fans attending Premier League matches again, says chief executive Richard Masters. The English top flight restarts on Wednesday after a 100-day break because of the coronavirus pandemic with fixtures played behind closed doors. Masters did not put a timeframe on a return of fans to stadiums but said talks had begun with the government. "The Premier League is back but it won't be fully back until we get those fans back inside the stadium," he said. "We're very keen to see fans back in the stadium at the earliest possible juncture when it's safe and appropriate to do so." Lawro's predictions are back Fans on big screens and celebration cameras for Premier League's return The league returns with Aston Villa against Sheffield United on Wednesday at 18:00 BST, before Manchester City host Arsenal at 20:15. There will then be another 90 games to fit into a compressed schedule. "It is a big moment because it's unprecedented and it will feel different because we haven't got fans inside the stadium," Masters told BBC Sport. "But whilst it'll feel different, hopefully what's riding on the games, the quality of the football and the passion, some of the Premier League will still come through." Masters also pleaded with fans not to congregate outside stadiums. "By turning up to the game, you are potentially putting it in jeopardy, something that we've worked really hard for, which is to play those matches at home and away," he said. Players' names will be replaced on the back of their shirts with 'Black Lives Matter' for the first 12 matches of the restarted season, as part of the league's response to the anti-racism protests seen globally since the death of George Floyd. Masters backed the statements, with the Premier League supporting any player who chooses to 'take a knee' before or during matches. "I don't see the statements that are being made as overtly political statements," Masters said. "They're ethical values-driven statements. And yes, I do think that the players are now speaking with a clearer voice, and I see that as a good thing."
June 16, 20206 yr Surely we aren't going to have the CL resume with clubs allowed to have different squads. That's ridiculous.

When Liverpool play whether it's home or away you will just hear their fans and that drone YNWA, TV companies will also be instructed to have volume much louder when they play, so the commentator can mention the biggest myth in Football the Liverpool fans atmosphere.
July 28, 20205 yr The returns been a big success given the circumstances facing them (the pandemic and everyone waiting for one wrong move to sham them), pretty much all the concerns raised in this thread didn't come to fruition. - There was no nationwide spike in infections (or mass infection for a team that caused a dominoes effect and required half the league to self isolate). - There was no death or serious illness to any footballer or family member. - The only mass gathering outside grounds were done by the one set of fans you can rely on to be c**ts at all times. - Pubs were not rammed with football fans. - The PL did not take resources from the NHS. - PL matches taking place did not put the NHS on its knees, not even in Leicester. - There wasn't mass injuries to players. - As expected the rest of the country opened up and football wasn't given special treatment. Job well done given the unprecedented circumstances, next big test will be slowly reintroducing crowds. Even someone like me who's been quite positive about football's response/recovery throughout feels it's going to take a season until we're back to full capacity, so it will be interesting to see how it's phased.

It’s always easy to pick up a ticket and there’s lots more families than you’d normally get a Wembley (which isn’t actually a bad thing).

Usually yeah, but i think this particular charity shield will be a poignant one, a lot of fans will want to be there on 'the day the fans came back'. The virus wont scare them off, look at the places they travel to for away games, us ars and livpool all have huge fanbases, i can see those 'sponsors' tickets going for big money.
