August 20, 20205 yr So question here, I may not be paying as much attention as all of you but I still havn't seen any news about Chelsea even pursuing solutions to the defensive and goal keeping problems. The only thing I'm seeing is that they are pursuing Kai Havertz who is an attacking midfielder. Almost feels like the plan is to somehow constantly outscore defensive and goal keeping ineptitude. I don't think that's a very workable strategy.

Seems like something they might want to get moving on. The goal keeping situation looks like it's going to be tough. I am guessing that contracts in the EPL are fully guaranteed and they probably gave Kepa a big contract which means that they might not be able to afford offloading him now and it's unlikely they could transfer him. Feels like they are kind of stuck with the worst keeper in the EPL for a while.

A domestic-only window, during which Premier League clubs can only trade with those in the EFL, will run from 5 October to 17:00 BST on 16 October. Please note the deals, loan or permanent, announced by clubs below may still be subject to international clearance and/or administrative details before they can be confirmed. All transfer fees are undisclosed unless otherwise stated.
August 20, 20205 yr Based on the recent rumors, for the defence I would like to see T.Silva with Gimenez as the dream scenario for this year, get rid of Zouma and Rudiger and loan out Tomori.

Guess they have more time than I thought to work on the defense. Now as to if they have the money or not, it seems that's something that can only be guessed at.
August 21, 20205 yr Based on the recent rumors, for the defence I would like to see T.Silva with Gimenez as the dream scenario for this year, get rid of Zouma and Rudiger and loan out Tomori.Nonono I gotta feeling Zouma will be our main man next season. His focus is way stronger than Rüdiger's and his physique and aggression way stronger than Christensen's. Those two we can get rid off, fine with me. But Zouma's got all the credentials. Give this man the quality partner he deserves (Skriniar, Rice, Gimenez, whoever) and he could be a world beater. The things he does sure look weird but they work.

It is due to the congested schedule between current and the new season. Clubs have time to do their dealings.
August 21, 20205 yr If we sign Thiago Silva on a free and year contract, and get Reguilon as well for around 25m, thats fantastic business and will immediately bring a big upgrade to our defensive side.

August 22, 20205 yr Author Hope we have a couple of easy pre-seasons, along the lines of Dortmunds cannon fodder, get them gelling and smashing teams, this breeds a nice habit

A highline would mean we need to be absolutely on point because I am doubting Thiago Silva's speed against the PL forwards
August 24, 20205 yr In: Havertz (80m), Thiago Silva (Free), Gimenez (60m), Reguilon (25m) = 165m Out: Bakayoko (25m), Emerson (25m), Bats (20m), Barkley (15m), Zouma (25m), Rudiger (20m) = 130m Next summer sign Oblak, maybe another CB to slowly try replace Thiago Silva and possibly another LB as backup to Reguilon if Alonso leaves.

We're going to have a lot of competition for places now and apart from the keeper my only concern is if Kante gets injured which is highley likely. Who steps in that role? Jorginho and Gilmour are not good enough to hold that role defensively. Maybe Ampadu is? It also wouldnt surprise me to see Werner on the left and Tammy/Giroud upfront if Pulisic is unfit. I think it goes to show that a lot of the signings that have been made so far are players that are very versatile. Havertz can play a number of roles and Werner can play left and down the middle. Ziyech seems to be able to play on right and in midfield if he has to. Even Mount has shown he can cover a couple different postions (albeit not greatly). Anyone in our midfield or attack gets injured, and we're covered pretty well.
August 24, 20205 yr After a scan of the Red Tops this looks the most promising, let's hope they have it right:
August 24, 20205 yr Tomori on loan but somehow a total tragedy of a defender Christensen is still the backup...Oh well it happens I guess!

I would like to have a core of English players within the team and Tomori fit that bill. Saying that, I wouldn't mind if Tomori, Rudiger and Zouma were sent off to a camp somewhere to work on their abilities.
August 25, 20205 yr Wow now I'm hearing about a lot of possible transfers. Almost feels like the entire team is being re-made. Looks like Havertz is the big money guy but I'm more excited about Silva and Chilwell strengthening the defense.
August 26, 20205 yr Author Wow this new Genesis of a team is certainltly tal=king shape, i'm thinking maybe 5/6 new players could start the first game..
August 26, 20205 yr The new players will need some time to settle in and adjust to the system. Anyone who is expecting a significant impact from the new signings straight away should be aware that the season starts in less then 20 days and this is real life, not Football Manager. Yes we had for example Diego Costa with 7 goals in his first 3 games but how often does that happen? I just don't expect a very strong start to the season, also we have some tricky fixtures in the first few gameweeks. Would love to be wrong but good things can take some time. Patience is all we need with this squad. Edited August 26, 20205 yr by wizardous

But with the signings we have made and are about to make there will be more pressure on Lampard especially. From the media especially one would assume. Very exciting times though. On paper we will have a wonderful side going into the season. I don't think we'll be fighting for the title if Liverpool or City have another 100-point season but if Liverpool regress a littlebit we might be in with a shot.
