Wow some night, I thought before KO we would get France so Germany is not so bad.

Portugal vs Belgium looks the tie of the next round, either might have made the Semis not now. Portugal go marching on for me despite gallant efforts from KDB and Lukaku.

Can't see Portugal dropping Ronaldo though he is clearly now showing his age and his touch deserting him at times.

 

Germany was toothless, had no idea how to break a team down. With a team containing so many good midfielders, there was nobody taking a chance passing long. They will get a hiding against England.

I still think it will be a tight game both coaches won't want to lose and if we win, we now have a good chance of the semis as most of the stronger sides are in the other half of the tournament.

I sincerely hope I am wrong but I can't see any other result. Yes we don't give away many goals but we hardly score either (sound familiar) - it's just not good for tournament football.

The main issue to me is this obsession with Kane, yes he has a good record, but I honestly never seen such a slow number 9, if he has not scored in three games against Scotland, Croatia and Czech what makes us think he will suddenly burst into life. Seriously I am 52 and I reckon I could give him a run for his money over 100m's - Every pundit and website seem to think he is a shoe in and how dare I doubt him ?? Don't get it.  Again, I hope I am wrong and he turns it on. Let's see. 

Our two goals from Sterling really must have Germany quaking in their boots. 

Having said all that .... come on England !  Prove this old git wrong !

Yes Kane is off form yet between Saka, Grealish, Sterling, Mount and Foden we have some exciting players and now with both Maguire and Stones we have some threat at offensive corners too.

Won't matter with Southgate as manager. The guy seems more afraid of what the opposition can do rather than have faith in the attacking talent he has.

3 years ago he had a worse team but wasn't afraid to go for it and England reached the semi finals of the World Cup. Now he seems scared to let the players off the leash and play exciting attacking football.

I thought last time we had an easy passage to the semis of the world cup and if we can get past Germany again it looks easy compared to the other group.

Pretty much, I even can argue that semi was kinda an underachievement, Croatia was certainly beatable

 

I am surprised a lot of people still use group stage performance as some kind prediction of how this nation will perform in knock out stage. It is pretty much the same with every tournament, they are irrelevant.

We have Christensen and Jorginho playing tonight, I think both will be on the winning side.

Denmark have started scoring some good goals not sure if it is the Eriksen effect or something has just clicked.

Work rate I think will be too high for the Welsh.

The Welsh have won against the odds before though players like Bale are now the wrong side of 30.

Not really much difference in quality compared to what we have currently come up against in this tournament though, so no reason not to show a bit more ambition on the field.

Lego was created by a Dane back in the 20s (or was it 30s? Can't recall atm). So we all own the Danish for everything we know about modern architecture, logic, gaming, anything really.

In fact I'd love if they built a national stadium just with Legos... That would be awesome.
