Euro 2020 (played in 2021)

Ronaldo getting knocked out in the first round now both in the last World Cup and Euro. Portugal can only blame themselves for not being able to score, younger Hazard showed how it's done.

I think that Sergio Oliveira is a great midfielder, sadly he's already 29 years old but when he came on he did everything right.

Funny day today, both favourites going out.

The Netherlands final ball was poor and once De Light went off the Czechs made it count.

Czech reminds me of that Greece team that won a few years back not that much talent yet work hard.

Good finish from Schick and that headed goal was well worked too.

The next one, Belgium v Portugal promised to be the tie of the round and was certainly fiercely contested.

T. Hazard's goal was a sweet strike though a good question whether the keeper should have saved it, I thought up until today their keeper had played well in the tournament.

So Portugal at half time were a goal down despite having more chances. Jota's finishing was poor today.

For me Eden Hazard was playing better showing good control and passing, sad to see him go off injured later on.

KDB also going off was a blow though Belgium stayed strong.

Portugal changed a lot of personnel and still had chances though could not make them count.

A loss of discipline from both sides for about 10 minutes threatened to deliver multiple bookings and this might come back to haunt Belgium should they progress further.

The loss of E. Hazard and KDB will be felt too.

Thorgan Hazard might become a star of this tournament should he score another like that and worked hard today.

Courtois had little to do today as Portugal could not finish and Ronaldo was poor also and I think this will be his last tournament and struggle to see Pepe playing much longer too at 38.

This was Portugal's 4th game in 12 days vs Belgium's 4th game in 15 days, a factor?

Not sure as both teams had different travelling to do.

Following the cost of beating Portugal today can't now see Belgium winning the tournament though will take a good performance to beat them and next up is Mancini's Italy. ::HeAdS:::

Eden is not even half the player he used to be. Sad to see.

Have to agree. A pale shadow of the superstar he was with us.

Agree with Scott about Lukaku, too. Some good hold-up play, along with the clumsy brainless stuff we became accustomed to in the Prem.

I really hope we do not bring him back.

Belgium are not a great team. Consistent under-achievers. I expect Italy to beat them.

Has always been his challenge. When fit he is amazing.

We all know Hazard need a lot of game to get full match sharpness.

Even without kdb and Hazard, Belgium still has a very good chance of winning euro. If they lost Courtois and their cb it is whole another ball game.

You can say what you want, but this has been the proven recipe to win most international tournament. Defend well, hopefully you don't concede and just somehow someway score, so when the critic say you need to be more offensive, give them middle finger and play more defensive.

Italy should spank this Belgium side in all honesty.

Have to disagree. If Belgium play to half their potential they should handle Italy comfortably. Lukaku has been scoring against Italian defences for fun this year.

Even when Italy is the better team they rarely win by a huge margin, that's not their style so I expect a tight game.

Who is this guy and why is he playing ahead of De Gea

I was about to post the same thing when I checked the starting goalie for Spain's 3 group matches: Simon started every match. It had completely escaped my attention De Gea isn't their number one goalkeeper anymore.
