Italy looks like Spain, has possession but can't see a pass for the final third at all. Kane and Sterling coming deep is a lifeline for England getting something going.

Perhaps not surprising because Italy do not have anyone in their midfield capable of playing that killer pass to unlock a team that is sitting back. You do realize that this is exactly the sort of situation where Jorginho's skillset is inadequate. Southgate seems to have understood that very well. Italy will have to look to some trickery by their wingers or a long shot to break through.

Kane does so much compared to him just being in offside, I thought it was going to be a real duel of the strikers but it's a one horse race, Kane is superior in every way.

Kane in Tuchel's side is a wet dream tbh. For me he's the best striker in the world.

The early goal made the game look like that for some 10-15 minutes, I doubt England would be that much sitting back like that if not for the early goal. Part from the goal in the second minute England didn't do much either and Spain had the same problem despite having superior passers so it's really not about Jorginho but about how the game is played.
