Conte has requested £237m worth of transfers apparently.

I wonder what clauses Conte had demanded in his contract. With Spurs being desperate, he’s probably milked them.

Good luck with that Antonio..

137 million is reserved for drinkwater and bakayoko

Inter was on the verge of bankruptcy. A mixture of the Chinese govt not allowing Chinese corporations to pump money out of China + Serie A being the poverty league that it is right now.

They could sell 2 squad players for the same price of Hakimi, you don't buy such a talent and then the very next season you come out and say that you can't afford him that's pathetic. Hakimi was Conte's untouchable and after knowing that Inter will sell him Conte actually stopped attending press conferences at the very end of that season. That speaks about Conte knowing that he would make things worse if he talked because he can't help himself.

I think the boardroom thing is an overblown narrative.

He definitely fell out with the higher ups at Chelsea but there was a lot going on in the background at the club (Diego Costa going AWOL, the B list quality of signings at the club, the protracted improved terms deal for Conte following the title win) that is no way all on him.

He left Juventu, with a year left on his contract. This was the year after returning from the touchline ban where he was stitched up with that ruling. Rumours he wasn't happy with the Juventus transfer stratergy going into the season he walked away from.... Ironically Juventus signed Morata that summer, maybe Conte just really hates Morata and that's what keeps pissing him off?

Walked away from Inter after the club started asset stripping the team (selling Lukaku being a big factor) despite him leading them to their first title in 11 years and ending Juventus' stranglehold on Serie A.

I mean, do you think a manager like Pep would tolerate that kind of mindset from his employers?

Nah, a lot of Juve fans hated him for the (I'm paraphrasing) "I can't buy a meal at a $100 restaurant with $10". He left because Juve won't let him get 200m worth of signings. This was the club that took him out of a poor situation and thrust him into stardom and money.

He threw a fit at Chelsea because our board didn't want to spend 200m worth of players over the summer. The target was a 70m Lukaku and 70m Alex Sandro. It was an absurd thing to do in hindsight because that year Alex Sandro started going downhill and Lukaku was terrible anyway for Utd. Arguably we achieved more with Morata than Utd did with Lukaku in the following years.

Inter was on the verge of bankruptcy because they were overspending for 2 years due to Conte's demands, the Chinese govt created a new policy that didn't allow for corporations to pump money out of China and Inter didn't achieve high enough in Europe to get extra cash plus Serie A is not as cash-rich as the PL. It was a storm of clusterfeck that pushed Inter to sell their Hakimi and Conte didn't have the class to even stomach the situation but just left weeks before the new season.

The guy is a good coach but he is too into himself. A petty man

Who else could they have sold to avoid bankruptcy? Their players are not exactly in demand. Everyone else seemed to want to stay and PSG came in with a big money offer.

Inter going into administration would have killed the club for years

Just someone that is easier to replace because Hakimi was their new star player and his value would just continue to grow, specially in that system and in all honesty he looked much stronger than other full-backs in Serie A at 21 years old, now he has 3 goals and 2 assists for PSG already as a RB, 50m pounds for that kind of a player in the current age is a scam, PSG absolutely robbed Inter there.

I don't think that Conte would have reacted the same way had they sold a midfielder like Brozovic for 40-50m, pretty sure for Conte it's more important to keep the defense stable as the core of the squad so he would have raged if De Vrij or Skriniar were sold as well.

Many managers after winning the title would be really crushed if the owners had said that in the summer any offer for any player will be accepted, sure Conte is a difficult man to work with but when he has a vision of how things should be and if you let him to pursue his project he will win you titles, he has 5 in the last 7 years. He did his job, the owners failed to do theirs and he walked away.

I agree but realistically, none of the players over there can fetch fees in the 50-60m aside from Hakimi and Lukaku that wouldn't mind going overseas.

Nobody needed or wanted Brozovic tbh at least not this summer anyway. It was a lose-lose situation. If they had to sell to keep afloat then they also needed to buy cheap covers and we all know Conte hates cheap covers.

Inter was fecked either way. The way I see it, these days Conte hates building from scratch. He should blame his poor luck that every time he wins a league title, his clubs tend to encounter roadblocks to meet his demands

This whole Conte to Spurs business just makes me sad.

He was a fantastic Chelsea manager who won us a title when we were in the doldrums (relatively speaking of course), won a trophy both seasons despite the disastrous transfers ahead of his second year. We then booted him for an inferior manager.

The worst thing about all this is that he'll probably go and make Spurs competitive now. Last thing we needed.

Chelsea had winners in their team though. Spurs are full of bottlers. I can see them improving, defintely. But I don't think they'll be much of a threat still.

f**king bent ref gives a pen for diving. Dybala misses and ref gives retake cause of Zenit player split second in the box to soon

I think that it's impossible for him to make Spurs a top team, here is where his good run ends.
