Can he play center forward? 

Sarri & Kounde would be a great power duo with a lot of ground duels won and a lot of 50-50 balls would end up in our possession. Maybe this is the future, less height and more pace and intensity.

I'd be a little worried about Sarri's fitness. Does he still smoke? 😉

Rumour is we are looking to get him signed after the window ala Ziyech.

Chelsea are pushing to conclude Kounde's deal before tomorrow night's transfer deadline. The Blues plan to sign Kounde, then loan him back to Sevilla for the remainder of the season.

Would make sense and a good deal. If true, I imagine Sevilla would be happy with that.

pretty sure you can still sign players and keep them there until summer. Didn't we do that with Ziyech or Pulisic?

No difference to us in signing him today and loaning him back or signing him tomorrow and can only register him in the summer window. Either way he stays with Sevilla till the summer so there is no rush.

Maybe we would get a better price now, rather than the summer when more teams come in for him.

Aye, like I said earlier it sounds like we want to sign him up like we did with Ziyech, after the window in February. 

Apparently Barca a making efforts to sign him and make him, AC and Dave part of their new back line.

Don't think Sevilla will sell to Barca unless they cough up the cash.............

Knew other clubs would be in for him when we didnt get him last summer. A player of his quality will have lots of teams after him.

Still don't understand how can Barca even come up with the cash for all of the activity they have been doing...

I think this deal is already done and will be announced sometime early this month. Similar to Ziyech’s signing 2 years ago.

Yeah can't see him going to Barca, and I hope mwblue10 is right.

I must say a lot of our recent acquisitions have come with great expectations and struggled to fully deliver. We have so many "almost"starts like Havertz, Werner, Lukaku, Ziyech, CHO, Pulisic. Sure CHO isn't an acquisition. About the only out and out bolted on success is Mendy. So I  like Kounde, looks great on youtube but I hope if we get him he can deliver.

I have watched Kounde play a number of times this year. I am not impressed. He seems almost disinterested at times. The anger and lack of maturity issues surfaced again yesterday and he received his 2nd red card this season. 

He is not playing as well as he did last year. Perhaps he is frustrated the Chelsea deal did not go through last summer. He is clearly not a 65 to 70 million player  this year. I also wonder how he will fit in the PL given his lack of height and slight build. He will get trucked as a center back and he is a sub par right back as he seems to struggle with long passes and his shooting is quite poor. I just don't see the fit for Chelsea and fear this could be another over priced transfer which  doesn't pan out.  

I'm still very excited to have him in the squad, perfect player for our system.

I agree that he isn't a 65-70m player but he's still the kind of player we need. Sometimes it can happen that a player wanted to move sooner but was forced to stay 1 more season and that could be the reason why he's a bit worse right now.

I have watched Kounde play 5 games thisseaaon for Sevilla, including the last two games. He was sub-par playing as a RB in last week's Europa  game. He was meh in yesterday's game during which he received a red card. That is 2 red cards in his last 5 game. In both cases he lost his cool. Not something you expect to see exhibited by a 24 year old. 

I don't see how Kounde can play CB in the PL as he is only 5' 10"' 164 pounds. He is going to be pushed around in the PL and harassed now that everyone knows he can be rattled.I  also don't see him being very effective as a right back as he doesn't appear to be good at long passes or shooting. I would rather see James or Chalobah. 

I view Kounde as the next big transfer failure if they sign him. Chelsea needs to sign a top football director as a top priority this off-season. Enough of just signing the latest hot prospect. 

And yet Sevilla knocked back a decent offer, over 50 wasn’t it?  Having said that he also started on the bench at least one game recently.
