Because two wrongs don't make a right (that plus Badiashille was rightly made back up for Colwill, where we just know Chalobah will be picked ahead of Josh regardless cause experience).

Also in the context of Marescas system Josh, Fofana, Gusto and James is more than enough for that RCB role in that back 3, even with two of them having injury issues (and Chalobah isn't exactly super reliable on that score either, partly what caused the Disasi signing in the first place).

At this moment in time we only have Josh and Chalobah for RCB which is perfectly fine and Josh's mins can still be managed well if Enzo really trusts him, right now he's playing him more out of necessity.

As for come end of season or next season in general, we will most likely sign another CB in the summer that would take mins away from Josh anyway. In which case he ends up as the RB option with enough mins to share with Gusto, unless James becomes miraculously fit.

Hope this hasn’t burned any bridges with Palace, they seem to be the only club we can send players on loan and they actually have a good experience and come back better from.

Chalobah is better than Acheampong and we're fighting for top 4 btw.

Fofana won't play again this season, James we'll see and Gusto absolutely can't play RCB.

He should have stayed at Palace, probably will end up being Tosins and Josh's back up when he was playing regularly at Palace.

Not sure that he had much choice as he is still technically a Chelsea player. For what its worth I think he will get a fair amount of opportunities to play second half of the season given the injuries to Fofana and Badiashile. This is probably connected to plans for selling Disasi. Assuming Fofana etc. return in the summer I am pretty sure they will try to offload Chalobah again.

A player at 25 should be a starter for a club. That is what is best for Chalboah. Sure it is good for us to keep him on the bench, but for the lad Chalboah he needs to play at this point in his career.   that is the real Chalboah love.

So you think every single 25+ year old  footballer is a starter at their club, every single one?

But this is the point.

Myself and many others on this forum have screamed all summer that Chalobah would be significantly better than Disasi in Maresca's system given the RCB performs as an outside CB. Why is it that us fans, who have no certifications in football, are able to identify this yet not our own sporting directors? They are trying to correct their past mistakes with more mistakes, and this is a repeating behavior. We dropped our interest in Omordion, an actual box threat striker, just so that we'd do Mendes a favor and sign Felix. We are now screaming for another striker whilst Felix is just redundant and providing hardly any impact that Carney wouldn't of also been able to do.

I don't understand how Clearlake can look at all this and not dismiss at least one of the sporting directors come the end of the season.

Totally agree. It is ridiculous and reinforces why we will continue to see problems regardless of who is manager, as long as we have these clowns running the club.

Liverpool while fighting for (and getting) top four promoted Trent, United promoted Mainoo and won a cup, we got top four after doing similar to exactly what I'm calling for in this case (prioritising James and Mount over the likes of Zappacosta and Barkley). Josh has probably been better than all of those above bar James at youth level. If Chalobah is better now (I don't think he is) it's not by much and certainly won't be for long if we give Josh the same chances those two above got.

I'd wager we lost Hall partly because we didn't commit to giving him proper minutes ahead of an out of sorts/over the hill Chilwell, we lost Rio (probably) because we couldn't convince him of pathway and came within a hairs breath of losing Colwill. I can accept the Hall and (nearly) Colwill mistake if we learn from it, but I can't accept history repeating itself.

Egbahli made a phone call to speak to Trev directly about the recall. He apparently reassured him that he would receive significant play time coming back, this season at least.

Maresca also called Trev to confirm he wants him and wants to play him.

Maresca also called Felix to say he wanted him in the summer. Just to keep that in mind.

Nothing on the club web site about Trev's loan return yet, but there is an article covering the recall of goal keeper Luke Campbell from his loan at Hendon !

Those of you who were concerned about what effect the sale of Kai Crampton to Bournemouth might have on our goalkeeping cover will no doubt now be feeling mightily relieved ... 🙂

Sky Sports  Karveh Solhekol reports that Paul Winstanley contacted Chalobah and asked him to return, however not for the first time Eghbali has contacted the player directly to ask for Trevor to return . I cant see the value in either of the sporting directors being retained if the owner and possibly the manager are having to do their work for them.

"Hi could i speak to Trevor please?"

"Whos calling?"

"Paul here"

"Paul who?"

"Winstanley"

"oh you're the third person to call"

Trevors assistant then puts the call on mute and shouts

"Trev,...Trev.....Ive got Laurel & Hardy on the line are you in ?"

Assuming it is true, would mean we have gone back to Cobham for defenders that are levels better than Disasi, Badiashile and this version of Fofana, who they spent (wasted) a combined 140mill on!

Also means we could play a whole Cobham back line of actually good, and one great, defenders:

James

Acheampong

Chalobah

Colwill

Or

Acheampong

Chalobah

Colwill

James
