Better than any performance we saw of Fofana this season

He was instrumental in probably our best defenfesive display this season.

Except for Sanchez howler (nothing to do with him), Wolves had two shots from Larsen and Cuhna for the stats and that was that. 

How does the higher-ups have the jobs that they do?

Heh, they are talented yes men.

Think about how we’ve spent 150m on centre backs while we had Chalobah and Colwill the whole time.

If we try to force him out again I’ll be disgusted and ashamed. How can you force an academy player out when he is one of your better players. I can’t get my head around it.

At least with Gallagher, I can understand since he hasn’t quite got the skill set we want in a midfielder, but Chalobah has everything you want from a centre back.

That ended two seasons ago when we lost 4-1 to Brighton. He scored an own goal in that game too.

Absolutely foolish from the powers to be that he was loaned out in the first place.

You could see some of that Thiago Silva-taught distribution tonight from Big Trev! We've missed that a lot!

Total professional. So much respect for how he handled all of this, his level of performance and focus.

Nah come on now, we've been told is all about Fofana and him getting injured is the main reason for our recent terrible form, right?

Am sure, had he been fit, we would have extended that run of 8 wins ( prior to the Everton draw) to 14 today, and he would have made sure we kept a clean sheet today too.

Great to see Trevoh back in blue and putting in a good performance for us on the pitch. 

He belongs at Chelsea and needs to stay this time.

Immense game. Did not put a foot wrong. The slide tackle he did on Larsen in first half was fantastic. His fantastic leap was evident on the defensive and attacking front, as was seen for his assist for Madueke. Deservedly got MOTM.

Absolutely immense last night - possibly the difference to us getting 3 points rather than 1 or 0.

Have to admit to being one who always thought Chalobah was okay but no more than that. But like others, once I saw just how bad Disasi and Badiashille were, there is no way Trev should have been the one chosen to go out on loan and it has no doubt cost us points up to now.

He set a very high level with that performance last night and I don't expect him to be as good as that again, but on the basis of last night, he HAS to stay in the side, even if Colwill and Fofana were both fit.

 

@Nibs Compared to our other CBs he's an experienced PL defender, and in this league experience is as valuable as talent. Especially in that position. 

Going to be be very interesting today to see what coverage that Trev performance gets from the club's PR machine ...

He’s a better person than me and I think it comes down to parenting and his faith because when I got that call I would have been SO PETTY!!!

I had good parenting, but still quite likely to have told them to go f**k themselves LOL. The perils of being agnostic I guess 🙂 

Our CB choices next year should consist of Colwill, Chalobah, Fofana and Acheampong. I’d sell the rest, and would still pursue a world class CB if available given Fofanas injury record and Josh’s youth phase in. 

Could also argue to sign one anyway, loaning out Josh for a year along with Anselmino.

Therein is the problem. Trev is 25, one more year and he will be considered an ancient to our sporting model.

At least we can hope Trev will show the owners just how valuable experience is.
