That's potentially £122m of pure profit which in theory could provide a lot of buffer on losses to Lukaku, Ziyech, and Kepa should we sell them.

That's very good news if true. I was pretty sure we'd bank a tidy sum from selling Hall and Maatsen, but doubtful there are many clubs daft enough to pay good money for Lukaku or Kepa, so the Mount fee will go a long way to raising the money urgently needed to financial compliance. There's also the potential sales of Broja (whose value must have plummeted after a disastrous season) and maybe Hutchinson, who Ipswich must be desperate to sign. 

Noone wants to see us lose Gallagher, Chalobah or James, surely, if we can avoid it. Mind you, if Gallagher does a Mount and refuses to extend we'll have no choice but to cash in.

Yeah the Mount transfer happened after last year's deadline, which could only mean one of two things:
Either it was counted on last year's account, meaning the deadline isn't that strict, or it will count for this year's account, meaning we've already bagged 55m of pure profit.

Looks like Ziyech is already off the books according to the club. According to the link below, apparently Galatasaray bought out his contract?

Good if is true, as the mount fee has been nack and forth for last years to this year's calculations for a while.

Thought experiment for a moment, let's assume that Gallagher doesn't sign whatever might be on the table right now.

The club then try and sell him, and he says "Nah" I'm going to hang around, he's playing etc. The club after all cannot force him to move.

He then surely holds the cards, because you would rather lump an extra 50k on the offer than lose him for free.

I'm making some assumptions here:

1. That the existing offer is about 90k.

2. That he will struggle to get more than 150k elsewhere, even on a free.

Correct the spelling: The club need to be looking at it like this, if we could pick Conor up on a free how much would we pay him in salary?

Slightly off topic but I do think that for every academy player that plays more than 50% of the Premier League minutes in a season there should be a relief in FFP, so like maybe 10 million per player for example. This perhaps would go some way to counter the pure profit point of view, develop more academy products and actually create a more financially viable model in an organic manner.

Gallagher should be getting 150k minimum imo. Any contract offer less than that is shameful.

Enzo earns £180k a week basic, base it on that if you want and Conor should be getting £200k p/w

It has to be sorted before the Euro's as Southgate won't let players negotiate during tournaments.

Again he showed yesterday how important a player he is to us. With Silva now gone, we cannot afford to let Gallagher go when the squad so clearly lacks leaders and players who are willing to die for the shirt.

Agreed. When you factor in the fact he bleeds blue, I’d say he’s only second to Palmer in terms of importance to the club, maybe even level with him.

Depending on other personnel, I think he should be made at least Vice Captain for next season.

Stating the obvious, but the issue here is final year of contract. They may have made an offer that doesn’t meet Gallaghers demands; this coupled with their position on final year contracts means this is strictly business and they’ll move him on. We can’t afford to be a team letting contracts run down. 

I’ve been tough on Conor all year, and still think we can upgrade. However I’d like to see him here as part of the squad. He is growing, and brings more heart than any others. 

Conor wants to stay, Poch wants him to stay, and 99% of fans want him to stay. Just give him the contract he wants already.

Surely, we're better off tying him down now as there's a real possibility he will turn down any moves away whilst he's still a regular starter. Then we'd run the risk of him going for nothing.

Gallagher £150k a week for 5 years = £39,000,000.

You'd be looking to pay that at a minimum as a transfer fee to attract another player that:

1) won't give absolutely everything on the pitch for the badge.

2) won't be anywhere near as durable. Gallagher the only Chelsea player to make over 50 apps this season.

3) More than likely won't be as good, at least not in the immediate future.
