Defensively solid but bugger all attacking options..RLC should not be on the bench which looks extremely weak.....mind you Newcastle are sh*te so I don't expect anything except 3 points.

With Mount out, that's probably the team I'd have picked.  Maybe RLC over Ziyech as he doesn't produce enough for me.

Agree with those asking why we have 2 keepers on the bench. Surely we could have brought Jude SB or another youth forward instead? Now we are down to Barkley (who was poor in the front 3 in both last attempts) RLC, and Alonso to through up front lol

I foresee a Ziyech masterclass coming today 

No Mount, Pulisic, Lukaku or Werner. Darn unlucky those are our first choice 4 options imo.

I totally agree we probably would have made more changes if not for injuries  but Kova , James , Kai  started and Mount came on . I just feel like if we had the rare privilege of having a full week off then all these injuries wouldn't be piling up on us

Because by the sounds of it Mason's illness was a last minute thing so there wouldn't have been time to get them up there, and that's without factoring in the fact they have a game today so them actually playing a match was always going to be the priority.

More likely a Ziyech performance of overhiting passes, flicks that get cut out, little tracking back and TT hauling him off again around 60 minutes.

But you need to keep players in who’ve been playing regularly to keep some sort of momentum going. Mount & Chilwell came on because the players on the pitch weren’t doing a good enough job and we still want to win the game. Kai is our only senior ‘striker’ left so he had to start. 
 

If the players on the pitch were doing better he could have been rested second half but it didn’t work out that way.

I agree with you but the selfish fan in me wishes the players had a week off to recharge their batteries , the coaches complain about too many fixtures but refuse to rest players. Liverpool beat man u 5-0 and could have played players to keep the momentum going but made 11 changes.  Klopp knows the League game on the weekend is more important than the carabao cup game. Just Imagine if haveretz got injured in that carabao cup match. Lets not forget that he played 90 mins and is our only fit striker. It makes no sense that we cant even put an academy striker on the bench

Hopefully it’s not the dreaded ‘headache’. 

Kova will be missed today ...no one to carry the ball forward from the midfield, that's where RLC would have come in handy today.   Ziyech's last chance for me, he's been piss poor for the most part, lazy and wasteful.  Needs to go in January or at the end of the season.    We have to control the tempo of this game or we'll get overrun by an enthusiastic Newcastle team.
