For two people who supposedly hate Chelsea, Shearer and Woodgate are being rather effusive in their praise for our first-half performance.

Pretty good half. Middlesbrough's high press played into our hands with players as capable of 'playing through the press' as Kovačić, Mount and Loftus-Cheek, which showed as we scored both our goals on the counter-attack. Now they're behind you would think this will only work further to our advantage.

In addition, I think it was a good call to take Middlesbrough seriously by opting for experience in the back four (Silva in particular).

I enjoyed the comment about their press not working as well as it did against Spuds/Man Utd because they’re up against better players now!

Absolutely baffles the f**k out of me how we pass our way into their half, where we should be going for their goal, but no, we pass all the way back to our keeper and then do some dodgy passing around and repeat.

I always used to sign the young him on the cheap on Football Manager and turned him in to a monster.
