It hurts to say it but Arteta has got them playing some lovely football.

He has. You can see the influence of working under Pep. And City play Arsenal next week - should be a good game.

Not really though Deino. Two things made the goal IMO. The early ball forward from Erickson and the missed tackle by Jesus.

Do think Arsenal are missing Partey in the midfield though. He does the same sort of job for them that Kante does for us. He's also the only midfielder who gets injured more than Kante.

Gabriel and Zinchenko was out of position, no?

Right now, both sets of managers has better forward thinking players. If we had someone like Eriksen or Odegaard who tries forward line breaking passes, we might have better luck

True. It also helps when you have players with real pace up front.

Yep, and who would have thought that a quick pass through the lines to a runner can give you a goal, eh? That must be a novel concept

I've said before that Eriksen at DM would offer way more than our DM

It just takes belief and guts to play it forward early

We had Timo, have Kai/Raheem/Mount(a bit pacy) upfront. Problem is we don't have an Eriksen.

2-1. I haven’t seen us score a goal like that for months. We never get it forward early.

The Havertz goal that won us the CL was probably the last one we scored like that.

We had Werner who has real pace up front :troll:

Personally I didn't think he was that quick RMH. Plus no good running fast if you can't control the ball, or show any finishing composure when a pass is played through.

We pin our poor forward play on bad forwards but the bulk of the problem lies in the creative midfield department.

Man yooo beating both liverpool and arsenal. We have a proper fight for top 4 now.

If Utd play like this every game we, and many other top 6 contenders will have a problem but in fairness Arsenal have missed several good chances and the VAR disallowed goal could have changed the entire outcome

3-1. Arsenal have looked good but their naivety has been their undoing.

Back down to earth with a bump!

Yep, but Arteta has been going all out for the win in every game I have watched them this season. This is the first time it hasn't paid off. They sure ain't boring to watch!

First ‘big’ game for Arse, and I use big cos of utd’s past not present, and they’re losing. Played some nice stuff but result all that counts. And feels very much a case of same old, same old.

Really? If this was us, the majority would be fuming. Their midfield collapsed and heads dropped after the 2nd one went in.

I had hoped for a draw, but Arsenal coming down with a bump is quite pleasant. The Dutch commentator was nauseatingly pro Manu and Ten Hag, ugh 🤢

Think you're right Deino. But it would be very short-sighted IMO. No doubt we need to be more adventurous in our play than we are at the moment. We can't be totally conservative and risk averse if we want to play attractive football and cause opponents more problems.
