Lamps actually has the makings of a half-decent side at Everton now, or at least good enough not to be in any immediate danger of getting relegated. They looked far better in the 4-3-3/4-5-1:

---------------------Pickford

Patterson-----Coady-----Tarkowski------Mykolenko

----------------------Gueye
--------------Onana--------Iwobi

--------Gordon----------------------McNeil/Gray

-------------------Calvert-Lewin(Maupay)

More evidence to suggest that Van Dijk isn't as great as everybody believed. I genuinely can't think of a time I saw him make a great tackle, isn't he supposed to be a CB?

De Bruyne & Haaland are incredible.

That's what they can do. City haven't created anything all game but one stroke of genius and they are ahead and will win.

Had we played like them today there would be complaints from everyone but they have that quality that will pull them through anyways. We certainly don't.

Haaland again 🤪

The man’s a beast that’s 10 already, if he can score 10 a month none of us have any chance

City really hit the lottery with Guardiola. I think their dominance has been solely due to him. He has the aura to attract the best players and his style of play covers up the weaknesses of even his poor players. They were iffy in the league even after dominating spending until Guardiola arrived and took them up another level.  I hope he leaves them soon, otherwise the premier league will soon look like the Bundesliga if it doesn't already

I agree on the aura of Pep being able to attract good players then there is the money behind them and not where yet the rumour is behind doors and off the accounts assets were exchange to get Haaland it was not as low as everyone thought.

However Pep on the biggest theatre can sometimes implode by out thinking his opposition and not playing defensive midfielders in a final.

For me Lampard was right VVD should have got red for that challenge, it was nasty.

Jessie Marsh of Leeds got red carded for complaining about his player being fouled, he was right the officials were not interested. he said there needs to be somewhere to discuss these things, I agree it was a blatant foul that got ignored.

Newcastle had a goal ruled out and bizarre as the Palace player was not fouled and appeared instead to push the Newcastle player.

Shearer and Murphy said WHU were cheated with Shearer adding Mendy was only complaining after the goal, wrong Mendy was complaining straight away and Bowen definitely catches him with his trailing leg.

Don't go expecting any intelligence from someone from Newcastle mate.

The standard of officiating is pathetic for the quality of the league. What is worse is the lack of accountability or answers. Anytime a manager opens his mouth they just slap on a fine for “disrepute” - well where are they meant to talk about it then.

Something has to change. Even VAR is messed up, and it’s so bad I’m hanging hopes on fifas semi-automated VAR system to alleviate some of the dross.
