Wow, could the start of this season be any worse? Already have no chance of touching City when they have a machine like Haaland and top 4 is already looking like a major struggle with Arsenal and Tottenham pulling far ahead.

Nope. The title is gone after 5 games (yes I realise that is pessimistic but seriously can anyone make a decent argument for us finishing above City). If Newcastle carry on as they are we will have them, Arsenal and Spuds to play catch up on and that won't be easy.

This is a big problem, we cannot afford more performances and results like Saints and Leeds or we will fall so far behind the top 4 pack.

We were never in a title race...not this year anyway..TT said this is a transition year.  By the way we are going the transition will be from EPL to EFL.   Arsenal winning puts us 8 points adrift of them and 6 behind Spurs.  Not monumental by any stretch but we need to get our sh*t together.  Liverpool can still come back, they have had more than enough chances however they look open at the back when you get behind them; Newcastle aren't going to be push overs this year.   City 5 up...give them the title before Xmas; Forest learning about life in the EPL and playing against City.    Wouldn't be surprised if they don't try and beat the record.

Some people were saying Haaland wouldn't break Salah's record for goals in a single season. The only thing I see stopping him is an injury. The guy will be as much of a goal machine as Ronaldo, Messi, Lewandowski and Ibrahimovic were in their prime.

Wow. Two hat-tricks in two games. Blokes a beast. Just shows the quality City have had as they could afford to let Sterling and Jesus go who are also both scoring well for new teams.

At least the dippers are losing again!

He would never have one hat trick let alone 2 if he'd come to us.............probably played as a wing back 😂

Haaland was always gonna take City to another level, they have signed him to win the champions League, which they could do.

Just happy that Liverpool look in regression, anyone to win the league than that lot.

The problem is that I can see this league becoming exactly the same as the Bundesliga. 10 league titles in a row for City seems a long way off now, but I just can't see anybody getting near them. Liverpool have just been unlucky that they have had their best team in decades and come up against a team nobody can keep up with.

I've quite enjoyed Liverpool playing champion level football only to come 2nd still. Seeing Arsenal potentially taking their place this season is taking some getting used to...

The sad state of affairs of Chelsea’s season so far is I’m getting more of a buzz when rivals look like slipping up than what the team is doing.

Usually we save that until the last few months of the season 😆

Another favourable offside decision for Liverpool….why didn’t we bid for isek by the way? Already done more in less than an hour than Havertz has for months.

He cost £60m before a bidding war, with that money we can get our actual targets, or we would assume cause we couldn't get Gordon for that money.

It’s very hard to be motivated when one team win every game by a cricket score. What’s the point of spending 100’s of millions on a fight to finish second every year for the next decade?

City spend a sh*tload but so do we and other top clubs (eg Man Utd). They just spend it better - helps when a top coach is in place for six years and calls all the shots.

Shame Wilson was injured for Newcastle he and Isek would play well together and would have put Liverpool to the sword.  They haven't done anything really this half and will likely succumb to the pressure

I wonder whether Dortmund feel done by now, we were supposedly offering 130 million for EH, and Citeh get him for under 60…. Ffs

There is no way they paid that much for him. It's impossible. If Dortmund are only getting 50m, then you can be sure that another 100m is going somewhere else.

He didn’t sign Haaland though, & never wanted him. He is a board signing.

Liverpool always moving, always running to create space, no more that two touches....and then you look at our mob.....like night and day.
