Marc Cucurella

i mean if Brighton get Colwill on a 2 year loan and don't have to pay 25 million pounds to get him that would be beneficial to them. they would lose out on the 20 million potential profit but that's not guaranteed. So to pay 25 million to make 20 million profit is a bit of a risk

Friday funday, Looks like no forward or cb for a couple games at least then!

Just wait till Arsenal drop points tomorrow. It's written in the stars for the season to start that way

Weve been smeared by the BBC lot, Dirty wengers buttboy Keown saying we're well off the mark with letting rudi go lol

i see people put both Arsenal and Man Utd above us.

Based on what?

If Man U doesn't get De Jong they will finish 10th

Going to fit Tuchel's style like a glove. Really excited about this personally.

Ended up paying a bit extra so that Brighton would accept a loan for Colwill instead of an outright transfer and that is fair enough. Great job Boehly.

Based on the hot curry sh1t they all spew out

i rather enjoy how they cannot stand to see us succeed

i have a feeling these pundits are nostalgic to their playing days when United and Arsenal where still considered to be top teams

so every season they are searching for little signs, a little flickering of hope, a swallow flying low, a pre season victory against a clueless Sevilla, a bald new trainer who demands players to be on time or the crackhead version of Bernardo Silva who they signed but has been injured ever since, and they think to themselves: maybe just maybe this is the season that we are going to be succesful again.

it sort of reminds me of this

you can try to teach a raven to fly underwater but you'll never succeed

Even a heavy section of our own fans are, it's truly bizarre. They both had everything in their favour against us last season and still didn't manage it.

Given the control Tuchel is getting this summer he must have been firmly on board with risking this deal going south by pissing Brighton off and turning Colwill's deal into a loan.

I can't wait to see how this one gets spun into him being anti youth.

2 wingbacks injured, a covid crisis at some point, a war, unprecedented sanctions on our club, Lukaku giving interviews

still finished 3rd, two pieces of silverware + 2 finals and were unlucky to not reach the CL semi-final

How did Boehly pull this off? Only loaning Colwill.

if true it's impressive

maybe Brighton weren't convinced to spend 25 million on him or they have another target they want to get and that way they can improve the team on 2 positions?

Were we obligated to sell Colwill to Brighton? No.

We just made Cucurella the most expensive LB ever. We don't owe Brighton anything. Colwill's transfer will be on our terms, and a loan works best for us.

"Fee well in excess of $52.5mill"? Meaning what? 55? 60? 65? How much did we pay to only loan them Colwill. Sounds like it could be an astronomical amount for a wingback that offers little going forward in terms of goals and has 1 year of PL experience.

Also on top of that the North London duo with IIRC largely fully fit squads had 3 tournaments between them to focus on post January while we had 5 to juggle going right to the end in 4. Also Spurs had a chance to put themselves in a glorious position to finish above us (5 points behind with 4 games in hand had they done it) as they came to The Bridge to face an horrendously off form Chelsea team with no Mendy, James, Chilwell or (from the start) Kante with Sarr, Kepa and Lukaku starting yet we beat them very comfortably.

Mindblowing how so many think they'll gazump us now the playing field is relevelled.

After medical completed, Chelsea and Brighton set to sign documents for Marc Cucurella deal. #CFC Exclusive details Chelsea will pay £55m fixed fee plus £7m add-ons. Levi Cowill will join Brighton on loan until June 2023. Expected to be official this week.

Insane, truly. If he was Ashley Cole or Robert Carlos fair enough, but wow. I get Chilwell costing 50mill, English tax ads at least 25% but Cucurella at 62mill after one decent season?

Wow, Todd got mugged here I hope he called the cops on them.

18 million less than Maguire

it's a bargain
