Is that number 12?

The first digit has a sharp point, so definitely. Thoughts go out to Loftus Cheek then, still here but stripped of his number 🤔

Maybe he has taken number 4?

I heard 74million Euro's ...£62.3 mill ....way, way over priced. If this number is true.....Todd you can stand up now, you just been silently f**ked.

Time will tell how we will meet again in this thread in 1-2 years' time to discuss either the bargain of the 2022 window or the rip-off of the century after Lukaku

Welcome Marc, happy to have you on board.

Side note to Todd, please get a quality director of football ASAP, before your legs start to bleed from all the pants pulling down you are going through...

got to hand it to him he's really working hard though

unlike other American owners, he really seems to care

You disagree @weetee, think we got a good price on him?

Not doubting his work at all, he and TT are certainly working hard on this.

Under Roman, a billionaire using his own personal fortune, clubs knew we would often cave in on price if we really wanted someone, though Marina tried to stop this there still were Lukaku deals.

Before today we had made two fair priced deals for experienced, top level internationals. Now we paid a fortune for a none international regular off one good season. Clubs will smell blood, especially if Fofana costs near 80mill. We no longer have Roman's billions to spend as we see fit. Out majority owners are Clearlake, a hedge fund who's only purpose is to make money for their investors. Is that not a concern?

Welcome Marc! I can’t say that I’ve watched him play much, but I hope that he’s all what he’s raved about. Time to get competing with Chilly, and time to move Emerson and Alonso on?

Todd is actually into sports investing. He has multiple sports teams and most of them he has no problems paying the big money for players.

One of the few owners ,from what I've seen, that puts success first so that the rest of the pie can be shared among his investors. Sponsorships, endorsement deals, media rights etc are only valuable if the club is successful after all. It's not a Glazers or Kroenke situation.

It really depends on Tuchel to keep bringing in wins and silverware because Todd and his gang seems to be ok splashing out money for now

If Todd was a billionaire worth 10bill putting his own fortune in like Roman no concern for me, well unless we were signing Lukaku again...

Clearlake and what their business is, is my concern. Along with people like Wyss who care little for football.

Yep, I disagree with your choice of words for sure. So what, he tries everything to convince Edwards to join us asap. How many top drawer DoFs are running around?

It's not his fault we had to buy almost a complete new backline with the whole world knowing, that will always be incredibly expensive + having no real elite striker up front except Lukaku who's already an improvement being lost - which says it all. Next season 2/3 of our established midfielders are leaving on a free eventually - again not his fault.

When you think about it Marina didn't really deserve all the credit she got. All things considered he's not doing that bad, no?

He is getting very good players, and the first two deals he did were good deals imo. Fair prices for the talent and experience they have.

Marc is also a very good player but we tipped our hand paying such a fee. We did not fire our scouts they are all still about as best I know. Can they not find us a Robertson, a Majtip or the like to plug the holes in our defence, what are they doing leaving us paying such a huge fee and leaving all our other negotiations at a disadvantage?

& Just today Demba Ba has said Marina will be a big miss for the club, and the work she did for the club was incredible.

I still don’t get the criticism of Marina, and fans praising Boehly for spending freely need to wait till we hear the numbers we are paying both Sterling & Koulibaly. I just hope it works out for Tuchel because of it goes wrong we don’t have unlimited funds to correct his mistakes.

If they're in it solely to make money then the only way they can make their current outlay (buying the club and transfers so far) back would be to see the club successful.

I am wondering if part of these higher fees may actually be due to the length of contracts which may be overlooked. Cucurella is signed on until he is 30. Its a 6 year deal and so we seem to be future proofing ourselves against Rudiger types of situation where players/agents maybe try to hold the club to ransom for salary increases or let their contracts run out. Yes this is expensive but we retain control of this contract for a number of years.

He needs an industrial amount of Vaseline, cos every f**ker is going in dry, and he ain’t to happy, 🤣🤣🤣

Welcome Cucurella!

Turned to be the most expensive fullback.. Anyways, let's hope he will prove all this and put a fantastic season for us!

Good signing for us, one season in PL and proved to be one of the best fullbacks in the league. Good age, good opportunity to rise.

Well at least if we have injuries to James or Chilly we have some depth at the wing back position.

That hurt us a lot last year.

Don't know why some of the usual suspects are being critical of Todd Bohely for this deal and saying it shows we should have kept Marina like she didn't get badly ripped off for almost every player we signed under her tenure.

We signed a 3 goal a season Bundesliga bench warmer for £58m

We signed a lower midtable average keeper who had a 18m release clause 6 months prior for £72m

We signed the Lords Drinkwater, Bakayoko, Morata and Zapacosta for over 150m

We signed a striker that has proven every day for his career for a decade he isn't talented enough to play at the highest level for nearly 100m

All with incredibly high wages.

I don't get the spin that we lost some great negotiator and now Todd is having to overpay especially as Sterling and Koulibaly are very shrewd signings for the fees.  Koulibaly in particular was possibly the only actual top quality replacement for Rudiger who we lost on a free due to Marina and Todd got him in.

Cucurella is expensive but he looks a damn sight better deal than most of the trash we brought in under Marinas tenure and he's premier league proven quality.  He'll be a great player for us.

Cucurella will start over Chilwell if we sign Fofana.

He's not depth.
