I think we have different standards for on the record but thanks.

Yes, maybe no direct quotes, will probably have to wait for his book for those, but so many different sources reported it at the time, I don't doubt for a moment it was the case.

Some managers don't particularly like working with young, inexperienced players. Mourinho was one, and I feel Tuchel has been another. Their development takes time and usually comes with a level of inconsistency as they find their feet. I believe if Tuchel had stayed, the door would have closed on Colwill as it did for Gilmour, Guehi, Tomori and Livramento.

It was Lampard that froze out and then got rid of Tomori, not Tuchel. The same Lampard that gets huge credit for his youth development.

By the time Tuchel came he was already on loan to AC Milan with an option to buy.

Yes, you're right Drogba. Tomori went on loan 4 days before Tuchel arrived on the 26th January. Milan exercised an option to buy on 17th June.

I can agree with you here. Generally speaking the managers that win titles are of that ilk though so I suppose it comes down to what one wants as a supporter of the club. Do we want to compete to the detriment of some youngsters like for example Tuchel, Jose, Conte or Ancelotti did or are we keen to see seemingly unlimited amounts of youngsters like we currently are but being miles off competing?

Personally I am all for alternative 1. If you can compete and have a core of club lads in the side and squad then all the better (like we recently had with Mount, Chalobah, RLC, Gallagher, James) but for a club like ours competing takes first priority and I like the managers that are unapologetic about that.

He did also make Tomori's career at Derby and early Chelsea days so i think its fair to credit him with his talent ID in youth.

Was not only his fault though was it? Colwill got skinned and Silva done a vintage Luiz (hence him nowhere to be seen in that still).

Colwill didn't stop the cross but that happens several times a game with all full backs, should be more than enough bodies goal side of their man to stop the cross.

Go watch the move back, Silva had stepped with his man to stop the early ball into feet. After that, its a 3 v 4. More than enough Chelsea players to deal with the danger. Not sure how Silva is taking flack here.

Says a lot about the club when he's cost a team an L with his best performance against Championship opposition

This lack of care for marking opposition and ball watching when ball come in eerily reminds me of Sarri's early days. This sh*t is coachable.

Can Poch coach it though? Have to wait and see.

Totally get that view, but I think you should always aim for a mix of the two. Two massive reasons for me, it helps build the future of the team and helps keep the identity of the club. Appreciate this isn't easy to achieve and it doesn't always work out, but, as an example, when you look at a young Guehi being sold to Palace, and a season later we spend a fortune on a past his best Koulibaily it stings...... a lot.

Honestly I think Caicedo was just being marked out of the game for large portions, definitely early on. He often had two middlesborough players near him, which left more space for Enzo to receive the ball. A couple of times I also noticed Palmer dropping very deep to receive it.

what do you make of today's moises performance?

Am quite hopefully he and Enzo will form a really great partnership, and am interested to, if Lavia ever gets fit, if he forms a great trio with them or not.

Caicedo has been good since the beginning. Nothing to worry about.

Most of Caicedo's criticism come from Chelsea fans who used to watch Kante basically single handedly win 1 v 3 battle.

Also he has been playing non stop since his return.. he too needs a rest IMO.. his legs were gone after 70 mins..

it will also help when we have natural fullbacks as options.. he literally had no options yesterday given neither Badi or Alfie were willing to cross the halfway line

He is doing very well considering most of the time he is in that midfield alone as it seems to me gallagher and Fernández are free to roam wherever they wish.
