I'm no massive Fernandez fan, I think there is a lot better out there and he is worth nowhere near what we paid for him. But has he spoken out against the ownership. I haven't seen that. But he still has six years to run and they recently turned down the contract extension. I suspect that they probably want the same contract length just more money.

He is going to be a distraction till the end of the season, and this situation won’t go away. The daft suspension just puts the spotlight firmly on him. Personally would just have dropped him to the bench till the end of the season, and call it a tactical decision. That is the right thing to do, without actually stripping away the captaincy. Now everything he does will be under the microscope.

A Madrid move doesn’t exist, this is just him & and his agent blackmailing the club.

Barco, probably an improvement on the outgoing so not going to worry too much about the incomings quality... yet.

This was always about a new contract; you can’t make a player the face of your team, and a captain to boot and not pay him like one. He has seen Conor Gallagher pick up £200k/w at Spurs, Saka on £300k/w at Arsenal, & James improved his £250k/w contract. The suspension was the wrong move IMO, should have stripped him off the captaincy and told him to focus on his game. This will keep on running till he gets what he wants or he is sold.

I'm sure Vinicius and Mbappe (whom the song also mocks specifically for dating a transsexual), both of whom are famously quiet and tolerant of racism, will be ready to welcome Enzo Fernandez with open arms. He surely will fit in the dressing-room next to Angolan-French Eduardo Camavinga and Cameroonian-French Tchouameni.

Interesting point about the Argies in general. Mastantouono is the first Argie they've signed in 11 years. The last was Di Maria, and that ended in acrimony as he Madrid pushed him out post-WC.

Di Maria was different because he came into a 2010s team with a bunch of promising Argentines in Higuiain, Fernando Gago, Ezequiel Garay. After 2010, and the rise of Messi's Barcelona and Simeone's Atletico, Real Madrid just isn't the place for Argentines.
