Don't think Bernardo Silva would be the position for Enzo. It's a different system: our DMs would play CBs there (or not play).

Enzo plays CAM for us because there is nobody else; Palmer is better starting from the wing and creates imbalance when played as CAM. CAM's not Enzo's position. He's a rounded CM -- jack of all trades, master of none type. We happen to "like" (I don't) DM types in CM and have a lot of them, so Enzo ends up moving up.
(what a f**ked up roster imo)

I don't think it is about what enzo want. Defensively as midfielder he is just very bad.

This.

As much as we bash Enzo, we will 100% either downgrade on him or sign a non needle mover as his replacement. Delap is worse than Jackson. Gittens/Garnacho are worse than Madueke. Hato is likely on par or worse than Veiga. Bounnanoutte is sh*t compared to KDH.

It's the theme under these directors.

Respect Hato

Right and for me and for most of the better teams I see play, a single good DM who is very good at regaining possession, which happens to be any CM/DM not named Enzo, should be good enough.

To think we sold KDH....

I said at the time he was sold that I thought KDH would deliver more output this season in the PL for Everton than we would get from Enzo.

Current state of play :

Enzo

  • 2,761 minutes

  • 8 goals (of which 2 were penalties, so 6 goals from open play)

  • 3 assists

KDH

  • 2,283 minutes

  • 8 goals (all from open play)

  • 4 assists

😎

They would play together: Caicedo (or any other one or our dms), enzo, and kDH depending on the match of course. Which is the reason I don’t understand the idea of fewer options make you stronger.

I don’t like these stats very much. There are lot of our former players who weren’t good enough and did very well playing for smaller clubs. That said, reckon KDH would’ve been useful in this roster.

Lukaku being the prime example where Everton counter-attacking style suited his game perfectly.

Goes missing far too often when we need him but yesterday wasn't one of those days, thought he was quality.

I thought the Enzo we saw yesterday was the same Enzo we always see. He had a decent first half, scored a goal, completely out of it in the 2nd half though. Low on energy, couldn't deal with Leeds press, out of the game.

He wasn't on his Pat.

Exactly how I saw it, as usual the more emotional fans decided he was "outstanding" totally ignoring that he completely disappeared the 2nd half as ever, when we really needed a captain to take control.

He was a lot better than he has been and of course, popped up with the all important goal, but still far from a £100m midfielder and his lack of pace was exposed a few times in that second half. Shows how average we are now that that performance made him a contender for MOTM.

It's symptomatic of how low we've fallen that an average first half performance is seen as great. Still not convinced by him. He pops up with important goals here and there, very true and welcomed, but he's not capable of rising up as a captain and control games when we are under pressure.

O'Reilly LB-LM seems to be working for them

He is looking a very, very talented young player. And not afraid to put himself about. Like him a lot.

More than happy for them to exchange whichever of Valverde or Tchouameni they don't want to keep.

Valverde would be incredible in the PL although he did lose the fight, so a bit embarassing.

Or we could sign the dressing room table Valverde ... um ... tripped and fell against ... hence requiring stitches.
