July 1, 20251 yr I like Noni, and until a few weeks ago I would have said he's our best winger, but Neto's overtaken him in my view recently. He doesn't always make the right decisions, but he brings some chaos/unpredictability to the team, and that's good to have.I won't be devastated if we do sell him, but would prefer us to keep hold of him rather than selling to a rival.

He ended the season with 4 goals & 6 assists, which is just isn’t good enough. Can’t see the improvements fans keep referring to towards the end of the season; he had 1 goal & 2 assists in our last 10 PL games. He has admitted he struggles with the low block which is essentially 80% of our PL opponents, and if you watch him when he faces it he just knocks it past them and runs behind. Granted he looks good in the Club World Cup but there is acres of space behind.

There is also the England/World Cup angle where he will be playing backup to his competition for an England place. If Arsenal & Newcastle are his options, he will opt for Newcastle. He has better chances of getting game time out thereAnd Saka's increasingly frequent injuries are the price he pays for Arteta flogging him into the ground. Salah gets away with it because he doesn't work anywhere near as hard as Saka.

Watching Saka tracking fb all the way to he halfway line is crazy

A month it was Sancho. A month it was Neto. Kinda underlines the issue. None are good enough to be out and out starters yet we always had 2 of them playing with us at the very least. Sometimes even all 3 during Jackson's absence.
July 2, 20251 yr If our directors can sell him for 50-60M. I'd shut up about our sales part of their job

A world in which an unproven Gittens is worth £60m, after a single breakout season in the Bundesliga, and Emanga is being spoken about in the realm of £55m - means that Madueke, after 20 goal involvements across 63 premier league games (or 29 goal involvements across 90 chelsea games in all comps) - should be getting £70m+ .We wont though get that though - because we get our pants pulled down too regularly. CHO should have been a £30m player....we got peanuts for him (£3m?), Pulisic £20m. Ampadu £7m. Lukaku - free? Ziyech £3m?
July 2, 20251 yr With a bit of smoke and a few mirrors we may be able to switch Noni for Raheem at the last minute and make a killing.

A shadow of himself post-injury with us, a disastrous loan at Leverkusen where he rarely made it off the bench.
July 3, 20251 yr I don’t see the point in selling Noni.. who you have just spent time progressing in the prem, learning the Meresca way etc and replacing him with Gittens who is basically at the same stage as the Noni we bought 2-3yrs ago and it costing us £10m.Are we getting our rivals players premier league ready for them?I’m not nonis biggest fan by the way,If we was bringing in an established world class winger then yeah happy days. This just seems like small profit taking while sideways stepping.I thought Gittens was coming in for Mudryk anyway? Edited July 3, 20251 yr by C3blue

A shadow of himself post-injury with us, a disastrous loan at Leverkusen where he rarely made it off the bench. The sales pitch could have been something along the lines of....How much would you pay for a Chelsea winger with 38 goal contributions for Chelsea, in just 120 game(many of which where he didnt start). Vastly experienced in both the Premier league and Bundesliga, and with a total of 13 goal contributions in top level European competitions -including 7 in the champions league.Following brilliant football education with the prodigious chelsea youth team , CHO transitioned into the first team squad, with over 120 senior appearances for the club. He has gone on to be a vital part of the Chelsea squads that have won the Europa League, Champions League, CWC and Super Cup. He has gained invaluable experience at the highest level - playing under managers like Sarri, Lampard and Tuchel - bringing pace, directness, and creativity, and an ability to operate on either wing or as a wing-back. Whats that? you say? £50m? £60m? ... .well, consider it your lucky day... because for this window only, Caltek is available for the bargain price of just £30m and a packet of scampi fries.

July 3, 20251 yr The CHO situation is also a good example of the dangers of scrap heaping players over 24-25. Or refusing to sign any.Do we think over our new young players 8-10 yr contracts they are not going to have injuries or loss of form?I know we all feared CHO wasn’t the same player after his bad Achilles but the rule is players tend to get better with age not worse, until their legs go then you scrap heap them.

Just that the £3m we sold him for was stupid

I`d be happy if we had an owner with a clear aim on how to build towards a specific situation progressively, not really seeing that so far but if Gittens is a step better than what we currently have then Im happy with that.
