Would be very Chelsea to lose this game, sack Potter and win the tie in the 2nd leg with a new manager.

Well that is what Roman did with AVB, but I dont see that happening this time.

dortmund arent the best team but they have been in good form as of late. wonder how we will do with no badiashille or madueke in the squad. Dont want to see mount start as he has to be dropped for his dreadful performances over the past 18 months

He has to if Mudueke is ineligible and Sterling is injured. Rather Mount at RF/RW than Ziyech. Least Mount shows up in Champions League.

But then again. Ziyech's passes to Mudryk against Dortmund's high line...

is sterling back from injury? ziyech is also a good choice for the champions league and his long balls against a high line will prove affective.

Biggest worry for me is how KK will play after being out for so long and also seems to be recovering of an illness which is why (besides Badiashile being great) he didn't get to play any minutes against West Ham (I thought he'd get some game time to get match fitness).

Still undecided as to whether we should start Mount or Ziyech at RW, considering Mudryk may be replaced by the 60th minute mark yet again, I'm vouching for Ziyech for the potential through ball to Mudryk, score 1 or 2 and later on get Mount/Gallagher to do the hard work... although that's optimistic.

He could go 433 and start Mudryk, Felix and Kai.

We're up to 18 months now with Mount, amazing. Soon be at "he's never played well ever"...

hes been poor for ages, quite easy to see it. Its just the casual fans who dont really understand football at a nuanced level are seeing it more now because he doesnt statpad from set pieces and norwich are no longer in the prem.

the boy from portsmouth is not good enough im afraid

if you actually watched the games without having a bias towards certain players you would see he has been bad for a long time, and always was overrated by a certain section of our fanbase.

he is just not on the level technically and footballing brain wise as someone like a Reece James or even Lewis Hall.

Not sure why hes so adored by certain fans? I mean I think I know why...

Mudryk/Felix/Noni maybe?

Would be interesting to see in the league, sadly with Noni not registered for the CL that is not an option for tomorrow.

Mount has certainly not be dreadful for 18 months.

Mount was the Chelsea player of the year during that last awful 18 months.

He has been below form this season for sure, but he is still an immense talent who has been with the club since he was 4 years old.

those sort of popularity contest awards are only ever voted for by the certain sectionn of the fanbase that seems to love him so much.

Its quite clear that mount wasn't near the level of Reece James (despite injury) or even Silva, but he'd stilll win the award because of certain people's quite odd obsession with him.

Yeah just seen that, bugger. Ziyech is likely to start then, unless he goes with Havertz/mudryk behind Felix maybe.

Most of us have a soft spot for our academy graduates, but perhaps your insight differs from that?

Where's the soft spot for Reece James? Or does that not count because of a certain differentiating factor?

Cobham in general, has been pretty overrated for several years now anyway, rarely do you get a player that comes through thats first XI quality (James being the exception)
