James and Chilwell are ready to start but not so sure if Mudryk can play full 90minutes yet but he'll get another start.

A lot of work for Enzo and Koulibaly needs to not get baited into bad areas because Reus and Bellingham are going to punish him hard if he goes too much aggressive... Probably a back 3 would backfire but we simply aren't drilled enough as a team yet in comaprison so I would risk it with not starting Mount nor Mudryk in a 3-4-2-1:

 Azpilicueta T.Silva Koulibaly

James Enzo Gallagher Chilwell

             J.Felix Havertz
                   Fofana

Fofana starting ahead of Mount ?

Mount might be having a crap season but he's surely going to start this one ? I'd think he'd be alongside Felix in the inside roles, with Havertz in front of them.

Dortmund's recent form probably makes them favourites for tonight's match, but I think we're capable of catching them out on the counter and pinching the match that way.

There's something about a European night where Chelsea are viewed as the underdogs that fills me with an unwavering sense of belief.

I'd be extremely surprised if Potter gave DDF his first start in such an important game ... he has hardly had any minutes at all since 8th January, and has only played 60 minutes for Chelsea full stop !

I know Potter wont pick him, but he did pick him in the squad instead of Auba, so he must fancy him a bit, i think Potter can throw caution to the wind up front tonight, why not ? Havertz has had more than enough time, he is well know in Germany, so lets throw them a curveball, DDF for 55/60 mins.

DD Fofana hasn't even travelled to Dortmund, nor is he in the champions league squad. He would do well to start tonight!

Dam it seems you are right, i read elsewhere he was included.

He's not in the squad.

Leaving out Auba was a strange one, as it leaves us really short of options up front.

Auba scored in both games against Milan so he's not exactly hopeless in Europe.

like I said, massively inflated stats against relegation battlers. The big chances created are mostly from set pieces as well lol

The same ‘relegation battlers’ that current keep taking points off us? I’d love for a player to start ‘stat padding’ against those. It’s also a given amongst pretty much every manager, player and pundit that there are no guaranteed ‘easy’ games in this league.

I would be shocked as we would be tossed out for playing an ineligible player...

Potter is backing Wes Fofana over Badiashile in the CL. That is a gamble. But a 70 million quid defender should be decent right?

Fofana is brilliant, such a shame he got injured and couldn’t get a run going. He’s better than Badiashille, even though he’s been really impressive too.

Sure, I hear he is the MVP in the treatment room as well.

In any case win, loss or draw, up the Chels and....walking in a Potter wonderland.

Lmao like I said, life must be good when you are Kai Havertz.

No competition at ST and can freely stink it up knowing Potter will always select you.

That's just it though he has plenty of competition as he is not a center forward or striker, and no one else in the squad is either.

So if Potter wants he has a whole list of false 9s he can use and drop Havertz for, Sterling, Felix, Mudryk, Mount, James, Chilwell etc. In other words pick a name, the position is no more or less natural to them than it is Hvaertz.

Think we revert to a back 3 for this, could be the 4231 dont get me wrong but for KO football I think Potter will borrow the blueprint that has worked the best for us in recent seasons.

                                  Kepa

           Chalobah       Silva      Koulibaly

James            Enzo          Kovacic       Chilwell

                    Felix                      Mudyrk

                                Havertz

Or

                                  Kepa

James            Silva        Koulibaly           Chilwell

                 Kovacic                      Enzo

          Mount             Felix            Mudyrk

                               Havertz

Probably be my two picks if I was to choose for tonight. Could see Potter going with these or mixing it up and bringing Azpil into the starting 11 if he's trained well and looks up for it especially in a back 3 system, Ziyech could also start as could Zakaria if he looks fit.

Hope UCL magic is in full effect today and we see KO Chelsea form rather than League. Despite our reservations about GP so far we've performed better in UCL than prem weirdly considering his exp in the latter compared to his lack of experience in the former.

Could only register three new players, he was never going to leave Felix, Enzo or Mudryk out. Same reason Madueke isnt registered

Come to think of it if we had Gusto already I would be quite happy to see James up front. He is the best finisher at the club currently imo.

Oh not again…
