February 15, 20233 yr I feel so disappointed with Gallagher. It was his chance to make his case and really cement his place as a back up to starters but now he’s fallen behind Loftus Cheek. Now with Kovacic, Kante and Zakaria coming back I feel he’s not going to get his chance again. I know he can be better than what he’s shown so far.
February 15, 20233 yr Havertz leading the attack, and two goalkeepers on the bench. I wonder when this squad will find the right balance. Who really should be leading our attack right now? Does anyone else think with the kind of refreshed/renewed support we have now in the form of Mudryk, Felix, Madueke, etc needs a Lukaku to convert opportunities into goals?

Well maybe Mount but he generally plays on the left and will likely replace Mudryk we will be much better attacking down the left but have to watch the defence. James is always running into Ziyech cos, really, Ziyech is the poor man's James. Don't have them on the pitch at the same time.
February 15, 20233 yr On paper our team is significantly better than Dortmunds. It's just comes down to if our tacitcal set up is as good as theirs.

February 15, 20233 yr I'll be content with 0-0 or 1-1, although I will take a shock away win. Havertz up top tends to get me fancying 0-0 the most, although on Superbru I've predicted 1-1

I disagree, Gallagher shouldn't be in contention for either of the holding midfield/#6 spots and has looked like an unnatural fit whenever played there. As soon as a natural alternative was available (even Loftus-Cheek, who you imagine must be fifth choice behind Kanté, Fernández, Kovačić and Zakaria) he was selected instead. I think Gallagher could be a huge asset as an #8 in a midfield three for big games, or situations where we expect to spend more time than not out of possession.

February 15, 20233 yr Very surprised Mount isn't starting ... he's well and truly on the naughty step LOL

I agree with your points but sadly there isn’t really a place in the team for him, position wise. Pivot seems to be the only place for him in our current formation and he’s been dreadful, even Mount had better discipline than him with positioning in pivot. Gallagher was just everywhere, leaving Enzo isolated. I hoped he would evolve his game because I believe he has the qualities to be a deep midfielder but it looks like he hasn’t got the maturity or discipline. I struggle to see how else he can fit in the team
February 15, 20233 yr I am expecting another 90 minutes of watching paint dry...backwards, sideways, speed of a striking slug football.. from the deadly blues. GP's fate will be sealed by the beginning of March I feel...one way or another....but there again he must have sat on a horseshoe that got stuck up his arse with the patient owners we have.
February 15, 20233 yr Just realised that we are very sparse on the bench for attacking substitutions. Like nobody ... plenty of cover everywhere else though !
February 15, 20233 yr 3-0 (Silva, Ziyech, Mudryk) On the basis that surely Potter must be able to have some sort of impact eventually LOL

Still haven't figured it out yet. Do the players believe in him? In the early Tuchel days you could see the players believed in their coach. Do the players like the Potter? I havent heard any positive talk from the players about the manager, playing style or overall feel within the camp. Players of this level want to be challenged and have fun. Right now, it's just a challenge for everyone.
February 15, 20233 yr i feel like the team will be a lot better today, seems like they are all determined to do well in the CL while the PL seems to be a lost cause already
February 15, 20233 yr On form we lose this so I suspect it will be a tough night for us. but hopefully we show up!!
