And felix/nkunku can't get a start. Good to see fans are coming round to what us experts have known for a while now......
September 15, 20241 yr It's always risky when there is no competition for spots. Jackson knows Maresca won't pick Guiu over him in the PL and complacency could kick in any time. Score or no score, he has that regular spot locked in. I feel the same happens with Madueke atm, too. Did not really pick up where he left off since that Wolves match. West Ham away I would have Sancho on the left, Neto on the right and Nkunku to lead the line.

There lises the utter stupidity of our transfer policy. Eight wingers, and not a single old fashioned “ knows where the net is, bash them up” centre forward. Ivan Toney where are you?

Guiu is better than Jackson and it isn't close. Better at making run, better at aerial battles, better at staying onside, better touch and control, better finishing....and a far far far better attitude (not getting booked for dissent every game). Probably a nicer person as well - not seen any media scandals around him... The only thing that Jackson has is a little bit more experience (albeit not much) and probably better dribbling. I don't get why we would see Guiu as competition - when Jackson should be the competition/back up/development squad

I like that the board have reduced the average wage to something in the region of 130-140k per week, which is brilliant in nowadays football. But it won't work forever. At some point they'll have to break the wage structure if you want to atract the very best because we can't expect everybody to give in to our demands everytime and have them come here from 250-300k per week contracts, only to offer them long ones on 120-130k (Osimhen for example).

It works relative to where we are. No champions league = no high wages. It’s why the incentive wage model is in place.
September 15, 20241 yr The days of us attracting the best players in the world, on some of the highest salaries in world football, are long gone
September 15, 20241 yr I’m probably as patient as they come with Jackson as he never stops running / trying. His movement is very good. However, he needs to improve; simple as. To still be making the same offside mistakes when looking across the line, or 3 yellows in 4 games - he’s a bit of a fool really. Needs to be benched and driven to improve.
September 15, 20241 yr Still love Wacko.... He really needs to work on his one on one's. Never really looks confident when through on goal and that is a massive area in his game he needs to improve. He'll get goals. Having said that. He's leading the line and I thought I'd post this. Bear in mind Spurs have signed our former striker who has yet to get off the mark for his club. Long season ahead but we're above them and 3 points off the Gooners. On the right path?
September 15, 20241 yr Forest got 8 points wtf !?!? Im not a big fan of Jackson but to say Guiu is a better at finishing after he missed that wide open goal against that conference league team a few weeks ago is pure hate lmao. Edited September 15, 20241 yr by DidierDrogbalala

Not sure how you can make a post about people earning their starts and then say Neto should start? He's been anonymous in all his recent games.

So I guess it's fair to say he should be given a chance on the right where he is at his best.

September 16, 20241 yr It's the clubs fault that Jackson is our main striking option. The guy is still young and makes mistakes. Nkunku can be our main striker going forward, with Jackson operating from wide, or coming on for Nkunku. We do need to get a striker in January to provide more options and support. My choice would be Gyokeres, as i feel he would be perfect for the Premier League, and us.
September 16, 20241 yr I like the fact Nkunku came on in his position and scored. He needs competition to make sure he learns from his mistakes. Nkunku, fully fit, will make Jackson better.

Absolutely useless.

I was having this argument with my son - who was saying jackson's run was good. I had to give him a clip around his ear, and made him re watch the game - to see all the times when jackson actually hindered our attacks by running into the wrong area. It is a fallacy that his movement is decent - it isn't most of the time.

He seemingly has very little instinct where to go, he seems to be constantly looking at the man on the ball instead of just moving into space, or taking defenders out. Drogba was top drawer at it, as soon as he saw a player get the ball in position he was off into channels, or behind defences etc. Jackson is just constantly looking back rather than seeing where space/defenders are.

It is all very simple to explain. He has next to zero football (or real world?) IQ. He is rubbish ….
