Dreaded coming onto this thread - and as i feared, the media and blinkered are creaming over his performance and jumping to to all kinds of nonsense about "best value" this, and "quickest brace" that....

We should be under no illusions. He is - and remains - absolutely rubbish.

I give credit for his 2 goals and assist today. You can only beat what's in front of you - and wacko was given - and took - the opportunity to run through on goal, and finished well both times. The 2nd in particular showed a composure that we had not seen to date. We saw composure again when making a good decision (for once) to play in palmer. So - round of applause for that. A brace and an assist is more than good enough to justify a motm award.

but.....(you knew there would be one!)

...West ham were absolutely hopeless for the first 20mins." - they never got started and looked half asleep. Those types of gaping holes up the rear are generally unheard of (unless on a night out in newcastle). He is unlikely to be afforded the same space in the future unless playing part timers.

So fair play - he and his fanboys can revel in the moment, and keep regurgitating the same nonsense about "non penalty goals" and any other dross that tries to convince that he is any thing other than a brain dead loser.

The annoying thing is that this probably means yet another game when the actual forward we should be playing (nkunku) has to wait it out on the bench. Not to worry though - Nico will ahit the bed again soon, and Nkunku will eventually get a chance.

Let's hope the performance today puts a few more millions into the coffers when we eventually sell him.

You dreaded it because you know you are wrong.  :morning:

I thought he was brilliant today, no doubt will frustrate us at some point but was on it from the off.

He was through on goal twice today one on one and put both away. Which has been a valid criticism of his game cause he always looks nervous in that position. Let's see him continue, but six goal contributions from five games is a really good start to a season... The only other player in our team who has done that this season is Palmer and he is the golden boy.

Exactly my point....people (including the media) not looking at things in the round. The numbers tell just a slither of the story.

Anyway....we won. Long may it continue. Let's hope the fraud is dropped soon so we can win more.

Jim, like you I am far from convinced by Jackson, but by continually calling him rubbish, you are making yourself look silly.

I disagree, I think it's a very entertaining bit and has been delivered with good humour. To be honest I don't really enjoy interacting with people on the internet any more; this sort of thing reminds me of the much funnier and more light-hearted old days.

Love you too sweet cheeks... xoxo

Yeah I've always defended Jackson. I think some of the vitriol he gets from some fans is just idiotic.

But notnowjim makes me laugh, so he gets a pass.

Exactly, and thats probably why. People treat him like he's the same as all of those flop strikers. The difference is he wasnt bought with a big reputation and price tag.

Dunno why a player who is constantly scoring goals is being called a flop .

Jim was obviously fuming each time Jackson scored.

He would rather he missed those chances.

Jim's opinions are more important.to him than the Club.

I think he secretly loves Jacko 💗💗💗

😂

I bet you didn't even celebrate his  goals , and you were praying for VAR to rule them out !

He was brilliant though wasn't he .?

Faultless centre forward master class, that we haven't seen the likes of since the late Peter Osgood .

For your sanity I'm sort of hoping he's useless next game, as long as we win that is .

Have a great evening Jim 😂!!!.

Bar keep!! Bar keep my good man. Three pints of whatever that chap is having. I too wish to be detached completely from reality.

Top performance from him today, unfortunately he's the type to pull out a 3/10 performance next weekend after this. But if he can consistently perform like he did today I don't think anybody would have a problem with him.

That is my issue with him. Every now and then he plays like he does today, then he goes on a string of 2 or 3 out of 10 performances. I don't expect a 8, 9 or 10 every game, but if he could turn a few of those really bad performances into at least a 6/10, it would change a lot of fans opinions on him.

The thing that grinds me up the most about the criticism is that he’s not clinical enough etc, completely disregarding everything else he brings to the team.

He’s so so good at receiving the ball near half way line and starting an attack. He’s pretty good at creating play for Palmer and others, he’s so good at finding spaces and attacking it, which is why he get so many chances to score. He’s like a complete forward really, far from world class but he’s definitely helping the team.

He’s always heavily involved one way or another and he just keeps going, which is why I’m a huge fan of him. I’ve seen far too many strikers go a few games without scoring and they just kind of disappear from the game, not really fighting to change his luck.

Jackson may miss 4 or 5 chances but he’ll always be there. He’s a constant nuisance to opposition’s defence.

Some salient points there. If he was consistently poor, which he is most of the time, there would be no debate, however he does have the habit of cropping up with the odd superb appearance, which complicates matters.   Awkward bastard

A lot of us have not had faith in Nico, plenty of us still don't, but @nonotnowjimhad been unwavering in his opinion  on him, always stuck to his guns.

Today is for Jim, Nico repaying all that reverse psychology that really is complete faith.

To Jim.

Episode 5 Drinking GIF by The Bachelor

I have said it from day one!

Jim and Nicos love affair will be studied by institutions world wide. Mandatory reading in universities and a best selling Novel one day.

They were meant for each other but at the same time would probably kill each other...

It's amazing how Jim just doesn't see it. I think it's one of the funniest things about Jim's posts. He knows more about jacko than anyone else (I still have no idea about jacko "asking for nude pics" I keep reading in posts), comments on his personal/social life, professional life, his looks! Omg, their love for one another will be soo strong once they finally own upto it. You're a lucky man Jim.

🥰

Errrr.....he's not the only that put jacko and masterclass in the same sentence.

Just for you @nonotnowjim

Lineker thought Jackson's movement has been good this season and thinks Jacko will have a good season.

I like his pace and the fact he is not shy to have a shot also put Palmer in twice so is also thinking about the team.

Hopefully he continues in this form.

If you want to praise our board/scout then Jackson is a good example.

A st who can go long and short is very rare and Jackson is one of them.(Haaland can only go long, Kane can only go short).

Jackson movement was already very good when he came here (he scored a few nice goal in pre season) but he wasn't ready for PL physicality but by the end of last season his back to goal play was what you see tho season. His finishing is poor but that is whole another story, improving finishing is much more difficult than improving overall play.

Of course not...There were celebrated and welcomed...just not as excitedly as if any good player had of scored them.

Just give me a few days, I will get out the replay reels and start analysing them in micro detail, looking to find other creative ways to disregard them.

Still raw and not near the finished article , but he seems to improved from last year in which I thought he showed flashes and was definitely worth persisting with.

Given his age and relatively cheap transfer fee , I don’t see how you couldn’t be quite happy with how he is progressing.
