I didn’t see the game tonight, but there’s a lot of fuss on social media about how amazing he was. But sounds like he’s City bound anyway.

Pep has a lot of work to do if this is the bloke replacing Silva.

Silva is the hardest working player at City whereas Cherki is notoriously known for being a lazy bastard.

So he's basically hazard mentality with Zidane talent is my reading from the game and all the previous noise...

Hazard was still bloody good despite his crap approach to training etc. Anyway he's off to city. Guess we will see soon enough.

I'm pretty sure he is the KDB replacement.

Strange one this, everything screams that City are getting a hell of a talent he’s got a mindset that’s rarely seen anymore, let me do the talking with the ball at my feet kind of player. For want of a better term, he’s a maverick. He could be the next hazard or could be a Tarabt, either way a very entertaining footballer. However Grealish was very similar at Villa (not as eye catching but proved it in the prem) and he’s been coached into a robot under pep and lost a lot of the magic. I’d almost say it’s a shame because he is someone who screams entertainer and I don’t think we’re going to see him as that for city.

Think it’s Reijnders

Reijnders is the Gundogan replacement. He is the De Bruyne one. Wirtz was top of their list but they were put off by the fee & wages.

Hazard comparisons are way off, the guy has the pace of a tree.

Agreed that he’s nowhere near hazard levels but he is magic with his feet and has little work rate. So the comparison of hazard stems from that, a fairer comparison is someone like Ben arfa, tarabt or payet being honest which is still impressive.

Cherki is incredibly talented, the kind of young player I would have backed BlueCo to sign if they pushed for it. But instead of going for young quality that will almost certainly grow to be brilliant, we spend big on young gambles that I just don't see hitting the highest levels.

The other teams are the ones identifying the top young players and signing them, we are signing the tier below them for the most part.

Thing is they enquired in Jan but prioritised signing Granacho instead because of this obsession with right footed players playing on the LW. We just have to hope he is ruined by Pep’s tactics because his talent level is scary.

Gonna reserve judgement until next season. Since City stopped spending £50m a chuck on defenders their transfers have mostly been underwhelming. Apart from spending big on Haaland the only player they've signed in the last 2 season I would like at Chelsea would maybe be Marmoush, but I'm still not sold on him just yet. Kova could still do a job here and not seen enough of Echeverri to make a proper judgement, the rest are average to sh*t.

Marmoush
González
Khusanov
Savinho
Matheus Nunes
Jérémy Doku
Kovacic
Echeverri

Surprised City had such a clear run at him, top player.

His pace and defensive contributions I imagine are what premier league clubs are concerned of.

I think Pep is scrambling on finding players to replace KDB’s creativity.

Am not sure that player exists in modern football, the closest is Musiala who is unattainable. Wirtz fee and wage demands was also deemed prohibitive even by City standards. To be fair they have done some solid business, and look like a scary side with legs now. Last season they looked too one pace.

Solid options like Savinho, Doku, Kovacic, Bobb, Nunes, O’Riley, Akanji, Ake. That is a scary squad.

Presumably Pep knows that defence isn't one of Aït-Nouri's priorities.
