April 26, 20242 yr I think Olise could have a Palmer like impact IF he could stay uninjured for more than a month, but where does he play?

Pretty similar to Palmer's role for us but, with Olise in our lineup, Cole could be redeployed. I fear this is all academic however. If Olise wanted to join he'd have done it last summer. I think he will move, but I don't believe he's coming back to Cobham.

To be honest, I don't think he will improve us that much, may as well trusting our 80M winger from Ukraine. Of all the people we were linked with last summer, Olise was the one I most wanted us to sign.

June 10, 20242 yr Author Word on the street is we've agreed personal terms with Mick Olise. Would be a super transfer, even at £60m. Kid seems a real talent.

Pls pls no more injuries...can't they just spend everything we have left on medics, healers, and voodoo to stop the injuries.
June 11, 20242 yr Olise would be a fantastic signing. I wanted him instead of Palmer last year and was disappointed when that fell through. He comes through as a straight upgrade for Madueke on the RW, allowing Palmer to play in his favoured CM role and Nkunku to stay at LW. The really crucial thing is that all three players can deputise through the centre, which makes for really strong squad cover and ensuring we wouldn't have to compromise in that no. 10/second striker role. You wouldn't lose much if Palmer was out and Olise played in the centre with Madueke on the wing, or Olise was out and Palmer played RW with Nkunku in the centre. Squad-wise, you'd have to say it would likely relegate Mudryk, Madueke and Chukwumeka to coming off the bench, which is by no means a bad thing for the team as a whole and much better than starting with them only to bring on Sterling. The real controversy is the impact it has on a very over-crowded central midfield. With a three-man attacking midfield, we then have Gallagher, Caicedo, Fernandez and Lavia competing for just 2 spots in a pivot, and that's assuming Casadei, Santos and Ugochukwu go out on loan somewhere.
June 11, 20242 yr Yes, get this one done! He would take our attack to another level, especially with Palmer and Nkunku as well.
June 11, 20242 yr https://www.football365.com/news/olise-hijack-chelsea-blow-agreeing-terms-man-utd-arsenal-target-wants-another-transfer agreed personal terms but doesn't want to come here..tell him where to go
June 11, 20242 yr I must admit i can't understand why we are falling for this again. It looked to me that he used us as bait to get a better deal with Palace last year and now appears to be doing the same to get a better offer elsewhere
June 11, 20242 yr Wondering if we can start playing the wingers as central midfielders and defenders. Do we really need another winger? He also missed half of last season with a hamstring injury and we know how that works with Rece James. if the owners want to give me 4 million, i'll happily burn it and flush it down the toilet for them.

This is more of the same. Taking unsubstantiated rumours even remotely seriously is a short cut to madness.

I feel like the 'agreed terms' is presuming they were agreed already last summer so there's no need to hammer out new terms, but that assumes he's not going to want more money this time, especially if he has other competing offers.
June 11, 20242 yr Worth remembering we not only agreed terms with Olise, we were on the verge of completing the signing before Palace threatened to report us to the tribunal for tapping up. I believe the club were speaking to him directly without Palace's permission vs speaking to his agent. I would imagine this upset Olise and as a sweetener Palace gave him a contract improvement.

Rush goalie is the new proposed position.
June 11, 20242 yr I reckon we go with Nkunku up top to fit all these creative players in and play the way Pep used to before Haaland came along.
