I reckon we go with Nkunku up top to fit all these creative players in and play the way Pep used to before Haaland came along.

Like this?

Jackson                                          Olise

Nkunku

Caicedo  Palmer

Enzo

Colwill Tosin Fofana James

Sanchez

I feel like the 'agreed terms' is presuming they were agreed already last summer so there's no need to hammer out new terms, but that assumes he's not going to want more money this time, especially if he has other competing offers.

Can't see the terms being the same twelve months on. Not in this inflationary day and age. Anyway, I'll wait for something official.

Think there might be pressure to play a fit Lavia so maybe more like this:

Sanchez

James

Fofana

Tosin

Colwill

Enzo

Caciedo

Lavia

Palmer

Nkunku

Olise

Maresca has often played a 4-2-3-1 and given the make up of our squad I think he’s far more likely to play that system than 4-3-3.

I think he’ll have a much more complicated 4-2-3-1 than Poch did.

Aye could be. Olise is sounding less and less likely anyways.

Olise is definitely one of Chelsea targets. Superstar potential on reasonable fee sounds like Clearlake slogan (+ low wages) 😂😂

Do we need Olise? Nope. Madueke has improved last season but Olise is so much better so who cares😁😁😁

He’s agreed personal terms but doesn’t want to come? Sounds like more media bollocks to me.  The Utd and Chelsea fan base is large enough to have a constant click bait cycle of 'rumours’.  Anticipating this to run all summer.

Spot on.

These c**ts on Twitter spout off as if they have the inside track - which they don't. They'll post some vague bullsh*t about a transfer and then 2 hours later post the exact opposite. More fool anybody who believes them.

A good summer/winter window long transfer chase is gold for them.

My understanding is that Chelsea are talking to Crystal Palace about the fee and the structure of payments.  That he has agreed and that he will be playing for Chelsea next season.

That is a very good ITK impression.

Your comment was, word for word, what I would expect an "in the know" sports journo to say. Just a lighthearted joke fella.

aha, i see. yeah, it was a quote from a bloke - who says he is "in the know" - but i dont know, who the fcuck knows?

Getting ahead of myself, but Olise seems like the kind of player we would buy and we will have a lot of these injury prone wingers/attacking mids. But that does makes sense, in that these type of players are always getting injured/tired and if you make proper substitutions and use the 5 a game properly then you are looking at 'starters' and 'closers'.  But say we get all these players and they are all doing well what happens next summer when the wonder kids arrive from South America?

. . .will we be selling Sterling this summer?

I would disagree that he's the kind of player we would normally buy, but I do think he's exactly the kind of player we should be buying.   Olise is on the cusp of become a top top player its quite obvious to see no guess work needed.  This isn't the Clearlake way, we don't do obvious sure fire hits.  The smart move is to sit back for a year or two to see if they truly are ready for the next step up like Olise.  Instead these owners have massive FOMO when it comes to young players and can't resist.  You could say it's more expensive this way but with the money we thrown at raw talents Lavia and Ugochukwu we could have got Declan Rice another player who was obviously ready.

Yep, all part of the plan to get the market moving around him

Cue CP offering him another, even more healthy contract including an even more healthy release clause. Like a washing machine stuck in rinse cycle.

Not really seen much of him to be fair, is he really this world beater he’s being made out to be? Going by his goals/assists he doesn’t seem much of an upgrade in Noni.

He scored 10 goals and got 6 assists in 19 games.

Madueke has 8 goals and 3 assists in 34 games.

Olise is very good, he has it all. Passing, crossing, shooting, touch, speed, strength, dribbling. The only thing I see stopping him reaching the top level is injuries.
