Gusto will likely start and I’d hope but don’t expect  maatsen. Jackson in the centre palmer at 10 Sterling right and muddy left. Nkunku to come on after an hour maybe with Broja. Lesley to backup Caicedo and Conor.

Is Lesley fit now? I wonder if Lavia can make the bench.

Badiashile deserves to sit his big ass down a bit on the bench after that clumsy showing in the cup...

No way. Still easily our best CB imo.

Not after what the cup match if we are to be honest.

On that basis Colwill should be benched for the terrible pass that set the whole embarrassing ball rolling. Not his first offence either.

I'll text you a blow by blow update. It's the least I can do to make you deliriously happy and festive!

You can try but my hometown is back in the 1980s there will be no phone signal.

Come on, be real. Bar that mistake, he was brilliant in all aspects. He did not let that error affect him and dealt with everything else comfortably when Newcastle tried to counter attack.

We are too small if we play both Maatsen n gusto at fb

There will be ways around that. Every selection has its positives and negatives. So far we have focused on being defensive, playing fullbacks as wingers, no no10, centre backs as full backs. This gets us lots of sterile possession with not enough goal threat. And then we concede to a breakaway or whatever.

I rather we play fullbacks as full backs and used a no 10 and scored 3 goals for every 1 we concede. The extra attacking threat and defensive speed offsets the extra aerial threat the oppo has.

Set pieces is extemely important. You can play well, have perfect gameplan, but if all it take for your opp to create good chances is set pieces, you will have massive problem

Not if we play 3-4-3 or 3-4-2-1

I think we had conversations about this 😁😁😁

Playing a system where your 100m winger won't ever touch the field is not exactly the best way to be on the good side of your boss.
