Not really.

Wolves didn't do much the whole game. All their chance came from dumb mistake (silva three times, it is time to retire) and set pieces.

There is no tactic that can fix attacker get fed ball in the box with tons of space and it led to nothing again and again.

Creating chances by forcing mistakes isn’t some phenomenon. They touched the ball once in our half first fifteen minutes and after O’Neil’s instructions they grew into the game. It’s standard. Complete contrast to Poch like against United where we were sh*t from the first whistle and Poch just let it happen. No changes until United got their 2nd.

When he did change it, after we conceded of course, it was Nkunku at ST with a bunch of wingers whipping the ball into him. Standard Poch kitchen sink. Oh and Disasi at right back for Gusto. What ever that was about.

Isn't this the directors of football speciality though? Wasn't this the very reason they were employed and aren't these generational talents the ones they have fantastically unearthed.

I doubt Boehly could find his ar$ehole with a mirror, let alone some fantastic Brazilian third division superstar ready to burst upon the commercially retarded premier league

Exactly. I thought the whole point of bringing in these sporting directors was to entrust the team building process to the professionals. Well, it looks like the biggest failure in modern football, considering the money spent.

You never know. He came back to us the last time and won the premier league. He probably wanted to change his tactics at United, also at Roma.

He might still be a top coach.

Jose got outcoached repeatedly by even Lampard last time he was in the Prem.

You are so confused, I just said he might have changed his tactics when he was at United and Roma.

One of the times in question was when he was managing United (United vs Lampards Derby).

You really think if he could/wanted to do a Fergie esque evolution of his methods he wouldn't have done it by now?

Probably worth noting that José's return was a decade ago. Also the squad was pretty good then.

Well worth noting his M.O. at Roma too. Blaming all and sundry for losses as per MU and Spurs days. A shadow of once what was.

That's true.

This squad is good enough. After spending £1bn in one year, you say the squad that time is better than now. Sanchez, James, Disasi, Badiashile, Chillwell, Caicedo, Enzo, Palmer, Madueke, Mudryk, Nkunku is a top starting eleven, better than the squad that time.

But the fans now will not want the manager to use this team. The fans that time supported the players, but today people are not supporting the players.

Even if the board are crap at judging top talent they haven't misjudged all the signings who have already been successful at a good level.

The fact that poch cannot instill discipline, organisation or a style of play with players in proper positions is 100% down to the weakness of the manager.

The amount of bookings we get for petulance is criminal, it has to stop but I am doubting poch's ability to put some discipline and steel into these players.

This is the screen grab just before the point blank header that Petrovic saved.

Ignoring Sterling and Jackson, we still have 7 bodies for 5 Wolves players, and yet leave two of them wide open at the back post. Why does this keep recurring ????

Our right back (27)  is in f**king no mans land again ... it doesn't  seem to matter who plays there they all drift infield far too much leaving free rein for the attackers on their side. The positioning of the CBs and DMs is shocking as well.

The defensive organisation and communication is a shambles ....

Same sh*t for the first goal : Gusto in the middle of the goal again ffs !!!

Is this some sort of sh*te zonal system or something ?

Why have 178cm little man Gusto right in the bloody middle ? How's he ever going to win a header up against taller centre backs and strikers ? As it is, he doesn't even compete and the Wolves player scores his header with both feet planted firmly on the ground LOL. We've got three specialist centre backs and you could throw a hoop over them at the front post in that passage of play (note not one of them is even in the still), and it's left to Gusto and our 19 year old rookie DM Ugochukwu to try and defend the corner. Just hopeless ...

Zonal marking at its worst! Zonal marking means your best headers are getting to the ball first whatever. (1) Also we have no one staying up pitch to draw two opposing defenders back. (2) No one standing on either posts would save so much (3) My favourite, we lack on defensive corners is a Lampard and Drogba in line with each post on the six yard line. Not because they would be great now!!! They were the best near and far post headers. They didn’t pick up a man, but the moment the ball was kicked they concentrated on ball flight and made sure they got to the ball no matter what.

Goals change games .. the reason we lost isn’t because of a corner gone wrong or a poor Badi effort..

the poor performance of the strikers really did us in and the players completely gave up after they scored ..

if we had a world class striker or a forward we wouldn’t be suffering so much ..

Salah has been dragging an extremely poor pool team from my head I can count atleast 4-5 games this season which we should have won but lost..

That's the bottom line. Should have been 3-0 up after 20 minutes. Story of the season.

That's copium. Was still 0-0 at half time though wasn't it?

First half is on the players, second half is on the manager and how he reacts. Broja and Jackson still stunk up the pitch  and we performed worse and worse in that 2nd half until eventually Wolves scored. Then Poch made changes.
