Approaching the end of the season only season has started with all sorts of strikers names being thrown up, it would be interesting to know what the consensus is on who should be our main striker next season. I've picked the 3 that seem to be the most strongly rumoured.

Gyokeres just looks like the total package. Less of a risk too given the Portuguese League has history of players adapting well into the Premier League. That being said, bloke will likely have Arsenal in his sights given they are a settled side on the up and have Champions League Football.

Osimhen by all accounts looks like the one more realistic given his close entourage state he wants to come here and we could use Lukaku as leverage.

Sesko just avoid. That would mean Jackson as our #1 again.

Ivan Toney depending on the price. An all action striker who is brilliant at holding the ball up and very good in the air.

Except he was good for only a tiny amount of time, do you think he might suddenly get better when he comes here...(like they always do 😊)

Have you checked his career record? But as I keep repeating, it's not just about goals for me.It's the way he plays that would be such a good fit us IMO. He would lead the line brilliantly and allow others to play off him. He is the hardest working centre forward in the EPL.

And with his experience at 28 hopefully could turn into a bit of a leader on the field.

I’d stick with Jackson as main striker with a very decent back up striker. Players like Osimhen, Gyokeres etc doesn’t seem realistic, they won’t be cheap and I can’t see how we can spend a fortune again after the past year.

Someone like Gerard Moreno or Fullkrug as a stop gap. Give us a year to compete for Europe and regain the finances to sign a top striker.

Serhou Guirassy only £15m and 27 goals all competitions. 25 in the Bundesliga.

I'm sure we can sap the confidence out of the lad and get him to single figures per season on no time.

All seriousness I've not seen the kid play, any good?

Maybe an answer that won’t get mentioned a lot but what about Cunha from Wolves?

Good all round player and I can’t see the fee being that high. Only 24 as well, doesn’t really stop Jacksons development.

I just don’t like the idea of us spending 100m on another player.

This is where our scouts need to earn their money. Bayer spent less than 50m on Boniface, Grimaldo, Xhaka and Frimpong and they are on route to completing the treble/going unbeaten.

Believe it or not, Cunha cost Wolves £44m, and would demand more than that to sell to us. I doubt he'd be a bargain.

Just sign an experienced backup in the Giroud mold

I think that is spot on.  What about Callum Wilson, or to injury prone?  Knows the league and leaves it all out there.

I’m not convinced by Osiman, but there does seem to be some smoke there.  Victor Gyokeres is an interesting prospect as well.

Also no opposed to another season with Jackson.  Bigger picture, with a more stable side and him settling/maturing, there are more goals there.

Never should have let him go

Left a season too late IMO, legs were gone in his final & he couldn’t up with the pace of the league. He was 34yrs old then & scored 4 league goals.

Sorry we are talking about Ivan Toney here, aren't we? The player that has just finished a long ban and has slagged off his current employer several times.

What you say is right UB, but he never gives anything less than 100% on the field in every game and he is their leader in that respect. He contributes in all areas of the pitch.

Spot on. Talk of his legs having gone is bollocks. He camped in and around the box. Scored goals and facilitated others. Lower goal count late on was down to the fact that he wasn't starting when he should have been.
