Thinking about it logically, they should have appointed Dr. Kildare, Florence Nightingale and Doogie Howser MD.

If we can manage to keep less than a dozen players off the injury list we might have a chance

We could hire the cast of Scrubs! @Mod will be in heaven with all the gifs!

Exactly, His coaching background is mainly Man C u23's & Peps assistant for one season.  Pep type football is boring but I guess you accept it if you are winning titles. To be honest, It's not for me.

Jose’s style was even more boring but not too many Chelsea fans were bothered about it. People want the immediate gratification of trophies every season, they don’t care how they are won.

Our 3 titles with Jose had GD’s of 57, 50 and 41. With Carlo it was 71, and that was a much better watch.

Robben, Duff, Joe Cole, Lampard, Drogba.

I think you and me have different definition of boring. Wildly different.

I found nothing boring about Lampard smacking a ball in from 30 yards. Drogba's power scaring the life out of defenders. Or Robben, Cole, Duff running at defences. Our counter attacks were lethal as well. I even found our park the bus tactics entertaining at times.

In Mourinho's second spell in the charge, he had Hazard, I don't think I need to say anything about how entertaining he was. You also had Fabregas with his variety of passing. Fabregas could play the tiki taka stuff, but if he was just limited to that, you would never see the inch perfect passes over the top of the defence.

I want us to go back to a type of football that produces moments like this. Moments of flair, quick counters, long range shots, wingers running at defenders instead of passing it into midfield, midfielders spotting good runs from the striker and playing a risky pass into them.

One thing I agree on is Ancelotti's football being better. Even now when I watch his Real Madrid side, I find that team more entertaining than most.

First 9 games in 04/05 we scored 8 goals and it was all pretty dull fare.

Shackles came off after that and we had a few games scoring 4 each time ... but I don't ever recall it being beautiful football. Ruthlessly efficient for sure ...

Ancelotti's year was a great watch in comparison.

Alternatively :  see last line of season summary on Wikipedia. "... media bemoaning Chelsea's lack of goals and style of play, particularly in contrast to the verve of unbeaten leaders Arsenal"

Like I said, first 9 games was pretty dire to watch.

And the other thing is you're showing a short highlights video.

Watch our highlights videos from last season and we'll look pretty good as well. We scored 2+ goals in 24 games, which was more than the 04/05 team managed.

We also won our first top tier title in 50 years. Context is everything.

And that's the point isn't it ? People tolerate boring football if we win stuff. First title in 50 years was terrific. We don't however need to pretend it was all exciting stuff when in many games it wasn't though.  Twelve 1-0 wins that season ...

It isn't that Black and White. 1-0 doesn't necessarily mean boring. I was a season ticket holder in those years and I can tell you, it wasn't boring.

Mourinho's first game was a 1-0. Only 1 goal for us. But the other team was Alex Ferguson's Manchester United and they got 0 goals. Do you realise the context there? What that meant? The marker it put down? To come straight in and beat United?

I don't think you do.

See my last post got your rolled eyes, deary me, so if you are doing the w**ky Wikipedia bit roll it on.

"The season was historic for the vast number of Premier League records set during the season. The list of achievements included; most points won in a season (95), most away wins in a season (15), most clean sheets kept in a season (25), fewest goals conceded away in a season (9), most wins in a season (29) and fewest goals conceded in a season (15). As of 2024, this Chelsea side still holds the defensive records for most clean sheets and fewest goals conceded in a Premier League season.[1]"

I didn't miss a home EPL game that season. And I was at Bolton when we clinched it.

IT WASN'T BORING!!!!!

The United side that finished 3rd the previous season when we were 2nd, and had a ton of players missing for that first game of the season as well ? (Roy Keane had to play CB)

Context is always important as you say LOL

Yawn. And Drogba missed over 2 months of the season with a torn stomach muscle.

You didn't know that did you?

Stop. You're boring.

The figures have been examined and statiscally, (allowing for context), there's a 98.79% chance that you are boring and a 99.84% likelihood that you have never been laid.

Your parents supplied the statiscal analysis.
