Yeah feel sorry for Lamps - he's done a really good job at Coventry.

But maybe for the best, as we all know, the team that goes up via the play-offs tend to get battered most weeks in the PL and I don't see it being any different next season.

Last minute goal sends Sunderland through...

Battle of the red and white stripes in the final.

Both of whom will get regularly slaughtered in the PL. For that matter, with their current squads, Leeds and Burnley face the same.

Just realised that this picture is wrong as Spurs were in the CL final in 2019. Still funny though.

Feel bad for Frank, but he did a great job getting Coventry from 17th (when he first arrived) to nearly into the play-off final.

Hopefully he kicks on and tries again next season.

I see some mocking him and calling him a failure as a manager, but it's a win to get Coventry in the playoffs at all when you look at where they were when he took over.

Fantastic display. @Valerie care to translate plz?

It starts with the old fashioned voice of a newsreader (can't tell whether it's original or a modern facsimile) telling about the bombing of Rotterdam by the nazis. "The heart of the city has been pulverised."

It is followed by what I think is a commemorative "we rose from the ashes" sort of story slash eye witness account. "We tried to defend our city.... nobody should lay a hand on our city... The bombs destroyed what we have built... We grieve for our city, from that day on things were never the same again... We were helpless. It is a scratch on our city that will never go away. But we rose high like the new buildings..." And then the blasted commentator started yapping.

Looks like Liverpool are going to get Frimpong from Leverkusen. I've always been impressed when I have seen him play. All of these clubs we are looking to catch up to just seem to be pulling further ahead.

Our so called strategy is flawed. Banking our future on a chance of potential, but the rest of the football world won't stand still and wait for us. Whilst we wait for our young players to become good, all of the current best talent go to the other clubs and they hoover up the next generation too.

I agree with your 2nd paragraph, but how Frimpong replacing TAA pulling further ahead?

Frimpong is a significant downgrade relative to TAA with what they can do with the ball. Frimpong has also managed to be somehow worse than TAA when it comes to interceptions, ground duels and aerial duels.

It's not so much the Frimpong signing on it's own, it's how quick these clubs are moving.

Unfortunately I believe it all hinges on our CL qualification at the moment, it's why you'll see plenty of rumours around ourselves or United for example, but nothing really concrete until both clubs get to know which competition they'll be in and all the money (or lack of) that comes with it.

Everton have found a stadium sponsor already, before Tottenham, despite the 6 year head start!

It will be called The Hill Dickinson stadium, probably gonna get called ‘the hill dick’ 😅

Going for the worst name of a stadium ever.
