Won’t happen. Just remembered the club sent out a media brief when they lost out on Jeremy Jacquet that they decided against signing him because of Josh.

Crazy right? Still don’t understand the lineup v a “League 2” Port Vale. Game was won at half time, but Rosenior chose to give him 5mins at the end of the game. He is the one player that needs to hand in a transfer request.

It’s absolute insanity the likes of Fofana, Badiashille & Tosin were getting genuine competitive minutes ahead of him anyway. We’ve mishandled the poor lads development for the past 2 seasons.

Hopefully having an actual ex-baller in charge as opposed to the wet wipes we’ve been lumbered with as gaffers will see his genuine talent and not hold him back.

Levi, Josh, +1, Hato, Trev is a LOT LOT stronger than the Trev, Fofana, Tosin, Badiashille rotation we’ve been stuck with this season.

Still think they are better off selling the idea of a short term move to Palace; London Club, European football, Guehi needs to be replaced & Lacroix is on the move so he will get first team football, and they sell at £20m + include a £30m buyback clause + 20% sell on clause. He has been messed around since he was 18yrs, he is already 20yrs. 2 years of solid football at Palace is better than being 4th choice here.

There's no reason he shouldn't be starting for us. What do we benefit from selling him to Palace? The experience he gains there, he can get here.

1. No one is buying someone for £20m with a £30m buy back.

2. There's no reason why Josh would choose to come back here. If he does well at Palace, there's nothing stopping Arsenal buying him for £40m and him being delighted to go there instead.

I'd 100% accept he could go out on loan for 12 months somewhere in the PL. Primarily because it's hard to give a player minutes when we're not in Europe. But selling him is madness and won't result in a positive outcome for us.

Ideally Acheampong would be our 3rd or 4th choice CB in a season with no Europe.

Colwill, New CB, Chalobah, Acheampong.

But we all know this won't happen.

In fairness after the disaster of a season Trev has had, Josh should be seeing minutes ahead of him until proven otherwise.

Sure the £30m buyback clause was too low, £40-£45m with a 20% sell on clause also, We had a £35m buyback clause in Livramento’s sale to Southampton, and chose to bank £15m instead. Spanish giants Madrid & Barca have been exploiting this for fun. Madrid sold Nico Paz to Como last season for €6m, and are resigning him for €10m this summer when he is at minimum a €50m player.

Well if he decides to go to Arsenal for £40m, a sell on clause at say 20% will kick in meaning we bank an extra £8m.

I liken his situation to Quansah at Liverpool who they sold to Leverkusen for £35m with a £70m buyback this season, and £56m one in 2027. He went out on loan at 19 to the Championship, came back at 20, racked up 1190 PL mins. That dropped to 539 PL mins at 21. Knowing Konate & Van Dijk were going to be 1st choice pairing, he was sold to Leverkusen with buyback clauses inserted. He has racked up 2500 Bundesliga mins in his 1st year.

Josh had 665 PL mins last season, he needs to be doubling it this season if he stays or it will just be a waste of everyone’s time.
