This ownership have wasted 3 seasons looking for the right manager/coach. They had the chance at Luis Enrique but fluffed it up. I am still miffed about what happened between them and Tuchel. Simon Jordan spoke with Boehly briefly during the world cup, and he said he would have done the same thing after Boehly explained the situation between the ownership and Tuchel. We have been left in the dark. Even Simon Jordan knows more about that situation than we do.

Palmer and Caicedo are top class, James as well (though he's been injured 90% of the season).

But Nkunku? Are we watching the same player here?

What does Nkunku do well exactly? He's not fast, dribbling's nothing special, doesn't seem to be a great finisher, zero work rate, have I missed something?

He has been poor for us in this system -

We turned one of the elite players in the world, one that until now continues to be coveted by the likes of Bayern Munich...and turned him into this.

As i have said countless times - we need a system that gets the best out of our best players.

Losing against Liverpool academy boys was shameful.

This was proven at the time to be complete bo**ocks so I don't know why you (and others) keep trotting out this line.

At all stages of that Final we had a younger average age on the pitch, and the two players that combined for their goal were 27 year old Tsimikas and 32 year old Van Dijk.

Pochettino had the worst injury issues I've ever seen at Chelsea, and still took us to Wembley twice and finished 6th. There was also a lot of entertaining football in our matches last season. Chalk and cheese compared to this season, and Pochettino certainly doesn't deserve to be lumped into the same conversation about bad managers with Potter and Maresca.

The line ups at end of the match were

LIVERPOOL

Kelleher, J Gomez, Quansah, VVD, Tsimikas, McConnell, Endo, Clark, Elliott, Danns, Diaz

CHELSEA

Petrovic, Gusto, Disasi, Colwill, Chalobah, Caicedo, Enzo, Palmer, Mudryk, Nkunku, Madueke

One of the most embarrassing moments as a Chelsea fan for me and I will never forgive Poch for bottling it.

Agreed.

Poch was awful. He had us also playing rubbish football towards the end. Couldn’t ever get any balance. Said it a lot - but go and watch the game against forest towards the end of the season. We won 3v2 but were very very fortunate - the worst I have seen us play.

and yes - he bottled the final. Average age is a red herring given they had endo and VVD - both ancient. The Liverpool side were mostly academy kids - and our younger players were first teamers.

All recent sackings were justified - the only one I was against was potter, as there were small slivers of light and times when we played better (games against ac Milan juve (I think?) and villa spring to mind)

You're welcome ...

You f**king what ?

LOL

That's the whole point - they had enough experience on the pitch to be decisive in the key moment !!!

By the same argument it is also drastically reduced by bringing on a couple of kids as late subs ... and STILL older on average than our line up.

Whatever.

Some of you are so anti-Tottenham that the facts will never impact your cloudy judgement.

While we are here, Pochettino did not "bottle" the final. He made attacking subs to try and win the game. Nkunku (67 mins) Mudryk (90 mins) and Madueke (97 mins). The only defender he brought on was Chalobah for Chilwell with 7 minutes left. The players lacked the experience to get a result. Whole team got nervous in extra time, with no experience out there to mitigate it. Nothing Pochettino can do on the touchline at that point.

Chelsea's A team vs liverpools academy/b team shouldn't have needed extra time....

You can try and spin it however you want - but it was Chelsea's first team players, against mostly liverpool academy kids who had hardly kicked a ball for the first team. The average age is largely irrelevant, as the liverpool average was bumped up due to a couple of older players - but it was still mostly the kids.

Carlo isn’t coming. Not under this ownership.

Yep! With calls of Carlo, Jose or Klopp, I don’t think people are quite understanding this ownership and model yet!

Just imagine Jose being told what to say in pressers! laugh2

It’s a Yes man model, get used to names like Southgate or Mckenna!

Carlo is great at working with players and that is what we really need. We have some great players (we forget that due to the stagnation of our system). IF Carlo came, Enzo could even stay and work as an assistant and actually learn something about the game.

And so many think the only issue is Big Enz...

Keep the thread on repeat guys, rinse and repeat.

Problem Is TT does not "collaborate", problem is Potter is just a yes man. Problem is Lampard is not good enough for the PL as a manager, Problem is Poch is too Spursy, Problem is Maresca is a boring clown.

Who keeps picking the manager? And who's "vision" do they implement?

Yeah Carlo is not the right manager for this team but if it's a choice between him and Maresca I'll happily have him back.

That goes without saying. Would take ANYONE over Maresca. Literally anyone. Have never disliked a CFC manager as much as this. Just want him gone.

Mate, Carlo joined Everton. Fecking Everton! Anything is possible. Although I don't know if Carlo would even want the pressure and stress of a PL job at his age. It's very competitive compared to La Liga, and he won't have some of the best players in the world at his disposal. We literally have Caicedo as our only real genuine fringe, if not world class player.

Also, hearing the name Liam Rosenior thrown around online, it's mad. He was not good enough at Hull City. He got fired for not making the playoffs with a pretty good side, and for not being open to attacking football. Not for me.

I definitely don't want Rosenior at this point in his career, but he was very harshly treated at Hull, you've only got to look at where they are now after they decided to sack him last summer.
