August 24, 2025Aug 24 Simons was in a team that just lost 6-0 to Bayern Munchins. I wouldn't want any players from a team like that.

The current Leipzig team is awful; bar Simmons, the only other good players they have is Nusa & Openda. Rest of the team is average.
August 24, 2025Aug 24 Are we ever going to sign this guy? I swear this is longer than us chasing Hulk.
August 24, 2025Aug 24 Add Xavi Simons to the list of players we sign/get linked to that get written off by you guys before they even kick a ball for us 😂

Garnacho deal likely done this week. Either it’s Garnacho’s agent puppeteering Romano or United are caving to the £30m deal.

Uefa allow us to spend only 20mill more than we being in for sales of players from Januarys conference league squad. So sales of Veiga, Carney, etc don't count.

I've seen enough of him to see that there is quality there, but I'm also very aware that players really struggle to integrate into the Premier League from the Bundesliga. It doesn't mean they are sh*t players, but they struggle with the intensity and power of the league. I would be interested to see how Maresca would use him, because he seems to be at his best playing off the left, similar to how Palmer is at his best playing off the right.

Simons didn't make a single noteworthy contribution to the game from what I saw.
August 24, 2025Aug 24 This whole transfer just seems weird to me, why splash out this much on another Bundesliga player when Morgan Rogers is sat right there for what would be peanuts more (in an amortisation sense of course). The cons are outweighing the pros on this saga for me and I’m hoping it all falls through.

Even in amortisation terms that is almost £5m+ difference every year, which is a lot. Personally no convinced by Rogers. He had a very good first season in top flight football coming from the championship, where he had everything flowing through him for Villa. How he handles going from “unknown” to now a “marked” man in his 2nd season will be very important. He has been awful in Villa’s 1st two PL games, and the worst player on the pitch v Brentford.

Not someone I would touch looking under the bonnet.

August 27, 2025Aug 27 They want Nkunku on loan with no obligation. So far we have 0 interest in a permanent move for Nkunku.Reports from Germany today that either RBL pay us 40mill euros for nkunku or we pull the plug on our 70mill euros deal for simons. They also have the sesko money and nkunku will drop his wages to fit their structure.Who blinks first or it may well fall through.

August 27, 2025Aug 27 Fermin Lopez might just be the better player. Simons is a bit further along in his development [both he/Fermin are La Masia products]. The word on the street, from Barcelona fans is that they think Fermin is better than Simons. And that Xavi has become a bit of a primadonna - he had to leave Paris for Leipzig to reach the next playing level. Really hard to say at this point.

August 27, 2025Aug 27 Other teams have really strengthened this summer. We’ve done good business, but we’re short a left winger, quality CB and GK.

August 28, 2025Aug 28 Assume this flies through now Nkunku is off? Seems another big gamble from the Bundesliga, hope it works out.
